well the x's will be cheaper... I have two profile 1000m and i'd like to just buy two more and have them wire at 2 ohms, one for each coil. I like these amps and don't want to spend what i would have to for 1 amp that can push both x's

If you can afford it, get the Xs. Then get an IA 20.1 to power them. no point in buying two amps when one can do the job.
i think u got that the wrong way bro...the 12w6v2's are $320 each shipped on egay and $265 shipped for each type X 12 on egay...

so if you can afford it, i'd get the 12w6v2's...they should be able to take up to 700rms each if u know what you're doin...

but since i can't afford them...i'd get the two type X's...and just get an average cheap amp like a PA A3000DB to power them...the IA 20.1 is definitely a nice amp but its well over 4 bills, unless you get used...if you can afford it, more power to ya...

either way, theres no way in the world you'd go wrong with either choice...good luck and i know you'll have lots of fun...

What's so special about the IA 20.1? I've seen people suggest it before, but from the looks of their site, it doesn't seem to be anything special considering the high price. Did they just REALLY underrate it or something, because 1800w for $700+...?

i found the type x for 275 shipped with a warrenty. but i know the w6's way more and i'm doubting that they can compare to the x's, my w3's fall short of my friends r's

i think the JL will give you a slight advantage in the sq side of things but you're really paying the extra $ to buy the name...

with 1000-1300 rms to each of the X's, they are def gonna get louder for sure....

I was taking in to account the fact that he'd have to buy a new, bigger amp to run the Xs. As he didn't originally state what what amps he was running, I couldn't possibly know if he could sell them for enough to place the Xs and the 20.1 within his budget. If you can sell your amps and subs for around 300-350 (I'm not sure what the W3s and the amps are worth), then buying the 20.1(used) and the Xs would be the same price as the W6s. So again, I say go with the Xs

It is special because it's very well made, and can be safely run under it's rated impedence (I've seen guys on here run them at .25 ohms, which means A LOT of POWA)

dude, are you sure the profiles are stackable?

if you're gonna go cheap, do yourself a favor and buy a A3000DB, its like $270 shipped with a 1 yr warrantee...

maybe $70 more then two AP1000M's...you can sell your current profiles and be better off...

well on that note anyone interesting in 2 12 w3's to help me get my x's? lol

I want to make sure i have this right, I can hook 1 amp up to each coild on the x's so that i have 4 amps, one for each coil? if that made sense.
