2 10's ported or 3 10's sealed

i've been planning a system for awhile now. tossed around 8's, 10's, and the focal 33v1. i think i've narrowed it down to either an fi BL 10 ported in 1.2 cubes, or a dayton HO 10 in 1.2 cubes. can't decide which way to take my new build. sq or sql.

After hearing how my 2 ported 10's absolutely annihilated 3 10's sealed I wouldn't be surprised how 1 10 ported will sound. I would go for sq.

I tried another experiment and got a ported box for 1 10 to replace the 2 10's sealed in my Z and the results were amazing. The 1 10 ported powered by a PPI PCX 2200 (800 watts) absolutely annihilated the 2 10's sealed by about 20% or more while giving me back some more trunk space. Sealed is good but doesn't have the same pop as ported.

good to see that the prefab is tuned low.

Hopefully it has enough port area.

Yes and the bass doesn't bottom out like it did in the sealed box.

I'de reccomend four 8's ported. You can fit four of em in the same size enclosure as two 10's, or around the same size.

i turned them into large bookshelf speakers.they ended up being small tower speakers:laugh:they break shelves.

If you have them bandpass, they should rock your cal to hell and back.
