1911 guys

Yeah I had wrong spring, the problem is the trigger not resetting if it gets dirty. Mine is probably going to be around 2pounds or so.
That will do it every time. The custom, adjustable triggers(at least the Springfield triggers) are "self cleaning" at the point of lock up. And if you are keeping the gun chambered, it should at least be in the half cocked position if not in the "cocked and locked position".

What model 1911 do you have? I have a ish ton of parts and my be able to "whip" up a nice adj trigger.....

I will have to see what trigger parts I still have left as I do quite a few of them.

I have a kimber crimson carry, I just ordered a bunch of stuff from wilson combat just waiting on it to come.
Very nice weapon sir!!. The Wilson Combat parts will work excellent!

I do have a complete Wilson Combat trigger group here along with an extended beaver tail safety that need a good mate......

Maybe I will need to find a new friend....hmm....

Gun broker .com here I come....

Thanks.

I almost bought a used Dan wesson but it wasn't in perfect shape so I grabbed the Kimber. I did forget to buy a front night sight so I'll have to get that on second order. It's got crimson laser grips on it but I doubt I'll ever use them. I'll probably get some Ambrosia ones made dyed deep deep red. I like the wilson combat sunburst grips but I don't like the medallion.

Have never cared for lasers on hand guns but they would serve a great role in a " wake from a dead sleep home defense) situation.

I have 3 sets of night sights back in Tampa that I need to bring up here the next time I go back there.

I have 2 Trijicon's and one Novak front sight in green and 3 Novak rear sights, one in orange and 2 in yellow.

The sights on the Ultra Compact are Green on the front and Yellow on the rear.

I guess when it comes to hand guns, the 1911's are the AR's(but much more reliable) of the rifles.

I think my next project may be buying a Taurus and see if I can make it acceptable.
I had a PT111 pro and a PT140 Millennium Pro that I still have(back in Tampa).

Both functioned 110%. And yes, I would trust my life with the PT140 as much as I will my UC. I have 2500 rnds through the PT140(.40cal) and it has been flawless.

Accuracy is "acceptable" for me. Now there are no mods for those but Taurus dose have their own version of a 1911.

Also a plus, they have an unconditional life time warranty on the entire gun. Even if you buy one used.

IIMO, I would say give them a try.

If I had to list the top most reliable weapons that I have owned and shot do date, they would be..

1. 189xxx Ruger mini-14. It has been fully built, and upgraded. before I did this to it, I put about 12k rnds through it with 0 problems.

since the mods and build, (about 8 years ago)I have put 14,250 rnds through it with out ANY problems!! And she will shoot any ammo, .223 or 5.56 you feed her. Steel or brass of any type. I even did a "prove it test" one weekend. Put 1200 rnds in 1 day with out any cleaning or lubing with out issue.

(neither one of my 2 AR's will do this let alone shoot cheap, steel cased ammo)

2. would be my Ultra Compact Springfield. Reasons....its a 1911!

3. would be my Custom Kimber .308(my ava pic).

Just a great shooter and accurate to 1k yds using 180gr ammo. I can regularly maintain sub 2" groups @ 500meters with this one and can hit 8 out of 10 clay pigeons @ 800 meters.

The Taurus would be #4 on that list.

Am I the only person who does not find it necessary to buy a pistol?...and I live in the hood by location standards, also have had a gun in my face (some STUPID shiet)..I don't know man i guess my weight and size is intimidating enough (atleast this is what I have been told)...But on the subject at hand, I like Glock .40's.
weight and size is not going to stop a home invasion involving guns.. Or robbery

I disagree. Fast rounds can easily over penetrate, and 9mm rounds will ricochet off a windshield if you ever needed to shoot at a car. .45s wont do that. But to each their own, as you said.
How much shooting at cars do you do again?

I may pick up a 1911 off the street oneday but these are my favorite Taurus revolvers.....
