18 sealed on 600-1K?

just sold my 2 arghs and ega-1700D to my buddy and installed it in his grand cherokee (which btw has a pretty dang good electrical from the factory) and now need something to play around with in the dorm again. ill probably get a good 1K amp or something to run in the dorm and was thinkin about running a sealed 18 to make the most out of my "under-desk-space" .. i dont want to build a ported box for a dorm beater and want to just fab up a cheap sealed 18" box or get a decent prefab from my buddy. sub should have about 800w RMS or near that so i can beat on it and get the full potential from it. anybody have any ideas? not really lookin to spend a ton either (if you couldnt tell).. maybe a few hundies for the amp and subs. ill get the amp from my buddy and just needa focus on the sub so what do you guys have in mind? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Speaking from experience, you won't use anywhere near what that's capable of.

I had a single sealed 12" with 250W when I was in the dorms, and it was too much most of the time...

well i google searched the maelstrom and only found one for 442 bucks. it seems to be a nice woofer but a little pricey for what im using it for. maybe when i build a nice HT set-up at my future house but as for now, gotta stick with a tighter budget.

that ixl doesnt look too bad.
