i currently have a kicker zr600 powering 1 12 L7 in a ported box as my center console in my 2004 reg cab silverado. it pounds pretty good but i want louder. my thought is to do 2 L7s in a sealed box down firing either both or one down and one facing the back wall as it now. the questions i have is would it be that much louder and does anyone here have a similar set up. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i wasnt planning on it tho my buddy does have 1200 watt kicker amp thats 3 yrs old i was gonna see if he wanted to part with. im no expert on this subject so i didnt think about that. if i could get away with using the amp i have i like to do that. the amp i have now is a bit older and i do know it draws more current so it would be better to get that other one but im not sure if he wants to part with it... another thought i had was whether having 2 in sealed box that im guessing is gonna be close to the minimum airspace is gonna be much louder than this setup ported. any thoughts?

larger enclosures are generally more efficient. So smaller enclosure will most likely decrease output in this case.

Also, ported adds ~3db and so does adding another sub. So going from a single L7 in a pretty optimum ported enlclosure to 2 L7's in small sealed's, i think youll be about the same loudness. Especially if they are underpowered.

Usually when using small enclosures, it is coupled with alot of power and large port areas for spl fun. small sealed is not ideal for gaining volume.

You could probably squeeze 2 10's in a down firing ported box in there.

I'm running a single 12" in my truck also. Except I have 2000w rms on mine. I'm having a center console style box built. It will be 2 cubes and has a 4" aero port. I'll be tuned to 32 for daily.

yea i had a feelin it mite not be worth doing. i also thought about seein if building a bigger ported box would do anything. idk what the cubes are in mine now if its small or not. would that make much of a difference? i wish i had an ext cab but is only a work truck.

you could take out the back seats and throw in 2 15's or 18's in a wall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif seen it in the reg cabs b4

i doubt rebuilding a box will help too much unless the one now is way off.

if i had back seats to take out id be posting pics of 3 or 4 15s...i thought about taking out the passenger seat lol
bahaha. that'd be kinda unique //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sound deadening is nice. but not gonna make you think you have 4x15's ha.

i wouldnt do 2 12's sealed compared to 1 12 vented. ive had previous systems where 1 12 vented, was louder than 2 15 sealed.

the system consisted of 2 L715's on a zx2500, vs 1 solo x 12 vented on the same amp. the 12 blew the 15's away

yea i actually had 2 of these same subs in a sealed box with a KR or ZR 1200 in my civic about five years ago and i think this is as loud if not louder. especially being in a small space like my truck. i just thought that maybe the same small space would benefit 2 of em sealed but im just gonna dynamat the thing and leave it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif. like i said it is pretty loud especially for 1 sub
