18" BL in a trunk

could you make the box far enough back so you could face the sub forward and have the bottom part sit in the spare tire well? thats how i had to do the 18 in my civic with only 15" and the spare tire to work with

hmm i have been thinking about that. it may actually work. i will dick around on rhino to see if it will work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you could face the sub towards the cabin. I would seal off the trunk. Just a suggestion. Do your angled design but face it towards the cabin. You could do something like sub and then port above the sub facing the front.

yea im working with some ideas to make it fit haha

here are soem more pics from yesterday i forgot to post

cutout to exactly 16.750”

mmm clearance

why not flip the box around and face it inside your car, seal the sides/top off. also, check out steve meades civic install (before it was stolen).

yea thats a good idea i have been considering. this is pretty much the only way i can fit it firing forward. my trunk isnt high enough any closer to the front //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

so ive been doing a lot of 3d renderings and such and i just cant come up witha very suitable idea for a port for the last design i posted(the firing forward one) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

does anybode have any idea?

also, im thinking doing the origional design but having the sub inverted. it would look pretty bad *** i think. how would this sound? would it be any different then firing back normally, or would it be more like firing forward, since the cone will be facing forward. im going to guess i will be just the same as firing back. any help is appreciated

thanks:)

just put the sub on more of an angle then at the front of the trunk opening firing forward?
i could probably move it up yea, its not space thats an issue firing forward(about 7 cubes before sub/port displacement), just where to put the ports and have adequite port area/length //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
