Aight, well i just bought an 06' 10" sony xplod....n thats it...i wanna make my own box! ive done about a week of resaerch and everything...and im prety sure imma have is sealed....

I got a 1998 Ford Escort with pretty decent space in the back...

1. I wanna kno what box set up (ported, sealed, filled up,etc) will work best the just one sony ex. (I ride bmx..n from time to time i need some spacein back.

2. Can i run it off the stock WUSSY deck n stock stuff i have now..or will i need to buy a whole new deck AND amp.

3. theres speakers in the front...both front doors...and 2 in back over the passenger seats. Both and stock crappy n i blew one...(I think both acted as bass)

4. So wut else do i need, I was a good kick with some low sound. Not the cream of the cropp! but something basic.

5. and will fillin it up a home made box with the foam stuff give it a lil lowish sound.

IM SORRY 4 all the questions...tell me wut ever u think i need! THANKS!

hmmmmmm, I have no idea what the ideal size for that sony would be.

Yes you will need a seperate amp

Sealed generally yeilds better SQ with the proper box where as ported has the output.

I think a Power acoustik amp would fit your needs and it's a low budget amp that has decent power.

Furthermore, Poly fill just makes the sub think it's in a bigger box then it is(assuming you have the correct box already made)....generally the way to do it is fill the box up with it and if you don't like how it sounds pull it out. It's about a 3 dollar investment if that much to see if you like it or not.

I'm also guessing you are wanting to know if you need new speakers or what not? I have no idea it's a pretty vague question honestly but I would suggest a nice component set for the front and have an amp to power them.

Really should have listed a budget.

Save your money and get something good. People always get crap when they start out just because they want "a little more bass". Then as time passes and there crap turns into a pile of shit, they want something awesome and if they wouldn't have wasted there money on the crap, they could have got good stuff to start with. Seen it plenty of times.

iirc....90% install, 5% equipment, 5% beer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
those percentages go out the window when you deal with the XPLODS!

j/k im sure they can sound good if done right

you should be able to find a decent 200-400 RMS amp for only 100 bucks or less.. (dont buy from a retail store.. shop online)

a sealed box will be fine. ported will be louder but for now just go with sealed because they are much easier to build and its harder to mess things up with a decent sealed box.. plus they sound better imo.

if you can do simple math you can build a decent sealed box. find out what sony recommends for their 10 inch subs and use 3/4" MDF to build it.

get a line output converter and you can use your stock radio.

If you could maybe use proper grammer I would at least tell you that Xplodes ****. But thats about all I know.
Oh ya, ported is better.. LOL
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif your post isn't exactly proper either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

(and dont tell me mine isnt, i already know. nobody posts perfectly so dont call them out unless you do.)

Yeah dude, please do research before you buy anything, or you will end up wasting your money as I did.
