150 amp power wire fuse big enough?

your main power wire is to be fused for the current handling abilities of the wire, not the amplifier you're running. 150 is safe on 4ga OFC wire but, certainly not on CCA. if the amplifier is going to draw more current than your WIRE can handle then it and the fuse need to be upgraded together.

that particular amplifier calls for a 4awg power lead with 150a fuse.

Well actually I have a 300 amp fuse between the front battery and 2nd battery in the trunk, than a 150 amp fuse between the 2nd battery to the amp in the trunk. Fixing to change the fuses today and wanted to get the right size

The manual for this amplifier recommends 4 AWG wire and a 150 amp fuse. A short length of cable will handle more current. The manual assumes the power is coming from under the hood, not the trunk. Your 150 amp fuse is fine.

The cable running between your front and rear batteries has a power source on both ends, hence it should have two fuses on it (one as close as possible to each battery).
