15 with 2 12s

Hey, Could i put 2 12's with my one 15? But my 15 would be in a ported box and my 2 12's would be in a box by them selfs. Could I do that or no?? I was thinking with the 15 get the low bass and with the 2 12's get your mide bass. Yes you can as long as u have the 12's and 15's playing difference frequencies

like the 15 playing 60 hz & down and the 12's play 60-100 hz.

i would rather just get a second 15 and have them play 80-100 hz & down

I would not advise doing that because you probably wont get the type of output that you are expecting. Mixing sub sizes can equal severe frequancy cancelations. I am speaking from expeirence, I had 2 15's and 2 10's in a system about 7 years ago and I could deffinately tell that was a bad idea after listening to it. The subs were all the same style and I had the thinking that having the 10's would help in my midbass response but it really didnt. I eventially took the 10's out , Which was the best thing i could have done to that system because then the 15's pounded way harder, louder, and seemed to hit more notes than did the both sets put together.

You would be better off with 1 more 15, or if you just want some better midbass go with some good 8" midbas drivers. I really dont consider a 12 as a midbass.

Just my suggestion from my own personal expeirence, I am sure someone else will agree.

I'd agree with phoneman. I've had 2 10s and 2 12s before, and I've taken out the 12s for awhile, during a system change. And my 10s are sounding cleaner than ever.

if you are going to mix subs, one each, and make sure the freq's are set right, or you will hvae overlap and will sound very bad
