15'' type R vs 13.5 Jl audio w6v2 or a beefy 12

ok im waiting for my buddy to open up his car audio shop and calling him to ask him about this on his view.

As far as i see it i have a few options

1. leave everything as is , buy new box plans and just build a new box thats it.

2. Buy the Jl audio , enjoy ported at almost half the box size im running now it will be loud enough and sound good but is that worth 380 shipped?

3. install my tc sounds 1000 , build a ported box feed it about 500-600 rms @ 4 ohms , suffer a lot less output but it would sound good and i already own it....

4. Put the alpine in a sealed box , lose output but smooth it out and cut the box size in half....It is in a vw golf, so the cabin gain is HUGE ,

Since the big things for me are

1 output in the low low's

2 blend with the rest of my set up ( alpine r comps up front , getting 100 rms from a pdx f4 )

3 a smaller box would be great

So Far the JL sub has what i want in every area....

a large driver for spl in a small car , small box size , able to hit lows , more efficent and less of a power hog than my R ,

it could be worth the money , any input?

13w6 all day if u have the cash. One of the cleanest sounding subs I've ever heard! Good for any type of music. I had type r's as well. Pretty loud and still sounded good, but as far as sq, id say the w6v2 is in a different league. Me in this situation= 13w6.

I remember seeing new 12w6s for a little over $300 shipped somewhere online as well
shipping to canada can be such a prison **** experience tho, my type R 15 cost 200....and 130 to ship after everything,....... so going through companies is out now i need a private seller to declare the item as a gift so i dont pay customs and taxes along with the shipping itself

now im leaning towards selling the type r locally and buying the two w6v2's from here, a ported box for both of them is half a cubic foot bigger for the 2 subs.

That would solve all problems big time

enough output , two 13.5's would get looooow and sound great plus my 1000 watt alpine feeding them each 500 is enough to push them.
