15" Subs?

RL-P with a 700 watt amp? Something that makes me not want this is kinda wierd but the sub was really cheap off of sound splinter. Usually cheap sups arent as loud and dont sound as good. Im looking for sounding good and really loud.
It does have a low requirement for a vented box though, that is something that could be nice.

Then hows about a SI Mag?

MT will get the loudest and take about anything you throw at it, now sq wouldnt be the best but it sounds about like my friends L7

it is loud and dosent require a huge box, also about 2500rms is what i t would like

an Rlp would get the sound youwant, dont know about the loudness

I want loudness over SQ, but I dont want a sub that sounds like crap.

When you say like your friends 15 L7, does that mean SQ or how much it puts out?

i've got a single 15 L7 ported in a truck and it bangs hella loud. i would imagine 2 would be earthshaking, musta been somethin wrong w/ yer buddies setup.

but how much airspace to have for the box?

get an orion 2500d and install it correctly, then go see some buddies or a car audio store and try different subs and enclosures on your installed amp, you will know very quickly what you like.....and what you dont.

I would say about 3.5ft3 for my box.

And for buying the orion 2500D that would be some huge overkill if I were to just get something like a 15" L7, or if I had a 15" rl-p, then that says 600-700 watts rms.

edit: might i ask what are you plaaning on using for highs/mids, processing?, amplification?

I want to worry about which sub im gonna get first, then move onto highs/mids and my amps.

So here are what im looking at for different sub options-

15" L7

15" MT

15" RL-P

15" DD(9515? I cant even find anywhere to buy these)

Im leaning towards the L7 just because I know a lot of people that are really happy with kicker, you can get good warrenties on it, and it sounds like thats what is gonna really loud.

I talked to my friend with the 2 15L7s and i found out he has a crap amp, too small of a box for the subs, and has his amp bearly turned up.

What amp do you guys suggest for the L7? I like the kicker amps because of the remote bass control that comes with it and because I have heard that they work really well with the kicker subs. I was thinking ZX1000.1 or ZX1250.1, and problably about a 3.5ft3 box, which is bearly over vented box minimum, but is right in the middle of sealed box requirements. I know the porteds take away some SQ but add to SPL, but would 3.5 be enough for a ported box?

you would have to pick up the DD from a dealer. my buddy got a fairly good deal on his. he has a 9515. sounds great.

Isn't the MT just for spl? I've never heard one, but I don't think they are supposed to have very good sound quality at all...someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

I'd pick up a 15xxx. I love mine and it was pretty loud in a 2cuft sealed box as well if you don't have much airspace, and it sounded fantastic.

I upgraded to a 4cuft box ported and it's a lot louder and sounds nice i think now.

I think you'd be very pleased with a xxx.
