would a L7 sound good in a sealed box....i know kickers are known for ported boxes......if that doesnt sound good then what 15" sub will sound good in a sealed box???

I wouldn't go mtx, I've had bad experiences.

I also wouldn't go with any alpine 15. I love my tens, and love the 12's but don't like the 15's.

uuuhhhh.... there's tons of others, but there's a few ideas for ya.

i thought the tempest wasnt for high watts like hes got. i heard they do exceptionally well around 400-700 watts.

An L7 12 would be just what you are looking for. PORTED. Even if you kept the same amp,(hifonics 1500), the 12 takes 1,500 PEAK. Buy a dual 2 ohm sub, run 1 ohm, and turn gain down. A 15" would require 1.5 cu ' sealed at MINIMAL. In my personal experience, if you're going to run L7, go ported. I had 2 L7 15"s in a 2 cu ' sealed(each). I thought it SLAMMED... Until a friend of mine built a 6.89 cu ' box ported in a s-10 (extended cab) w/ a kx1200x1 @ 1 ohm. Hit a 153. Not too shabby... It's all up to you and how you want it to sound, and at the same time have it within your budget. L7 12" here goes for $150' ish. Whichever you go with, go ported.

ok here are the dimensions we have to work with (at most).....20" wide x 20" high x 16" depth......i doubt there is a way to go ported even with a 12....let me know if there is and would a 15 sealed (2.5ft.^3) be louder than a 12 ported???

A XXX would handle 1500 watts daily without breaking a sweat. An L7 will be begging for mercy. But a XXX is almost double the money.
