12s vs 10s

I am planning on purchasing alpine type Rs. I plan on getting three. I would like four but i think im pushing my budget. I can always buy more later. But any ways i noticed that the 12's dont cost very much more than the 10's. i first planned on buying (3) 10's but now im wondering it the extra money for the (3) 12's would be worth it. What are your opinions? I havnt purchased a box nor an amp yet so those can be bout to match what i get. Thanx for your help.

Tell that to tommyK Hes hittin around 149.x with 1 type R 10.

How loud you will be, is completely install/enclosure dependent

Im screwed then. I have no knowledge to what to buy. I have no idea how to hook up a system. And i have no idea what Sq is? ****.....come to think of it i dont know nothin. I rather the subs sound good than hit EXTREAMLY hard. But u always got to have some Pound to them. Really i'd rather have them POUND real hard and sound real fukin good. Dont suppose any sub does that though....

Plz post any opinions

Well the Type R's are good budget subs, but you can get better SQ (SOUND QUALITY-SOUNDS GOOD) if you are willing to spend a little more on subs.

Dont get me wrong, The Type R's are pretty dammn good subs, and alot of forum members have had good luck with them.

So you're saying that if the same model subwoofers, one 10" and the other 12", both were in sealed enclosures built to manufacturer's specs, the 12" would have punchier and tighter bass than the 10"?

my 12's get pretty deep... it's enclosure dependent.. smaller enclosures for better response, bigger for better deep and low end..
