12s vs 10s

So you're saying that if the same model subwoofers, one 10" and the other 12", both were in sealed enclosures built to manufacturer's specs, the 12" would have punchier and tighter bass than the 10"?
Atleast as tight and as punchy, yes. Assuming equivalent Qtc's.

 
my 12's get pretty deep... it's enclosure dependent.. smaller enclosures for better response, bigger for better deep and low end..

Smaller for more peak output. Technically the larger enclosures have better response aswell (flatter frequency response, increased transient response)

 
lol to whoever posted all those links... Now he'll be thinking this over forever... :p

But honestly, three 12's of almost any good brand will pound like hell, especially for someone new to the car audio world. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Type R's do have pretty nice SQ, so it's a win-win.
