127.8 hrtz!!!!!!! first budget build.

What does terry Brock drive again
Looks like he competes with a civic. now when you said back that mean back like the back of the car? because the 3 loudest civics/ trunks period all run sub/port forward or sub up port forward. Now maybe its different for you, maybe you dont burp at resonate, might be cause your on the west cosast, idk. Might be why your test results differ.

There are a few newer vids of some runs. he has gotten louder. doing a 59 or 60 outlaw.

That box is pretty small for a single 15. And if it is tuned to 40 Hz then it is tuned too high. Sure, if you don't care about getting a good bit of low frequency extension out of the subwoofer system you can go ahead and use a small box tuned high. However, if you want to get 100% of what the subwoofer can do I highly recommend changing your enclosure to ~3.5 ft^3 and tuning it to 32 or 35 Hz.

yeah I'm looking at a couple different places for designs. this time id try to face the port and sub forward. tuned to maybe 34... STBD
Get a hold of DC Creations. He has extensive experience with Obsidian subwoofers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You all sound like Dr. Subwoofer. "32hz is the best tyuning"
Well I'm sure you know more than the guys that designed the sub, but they will tell you around 3ft^3 after displacement at 32hz is where you want to be with these subs. Talk to them if you want to know why.

You sir, come across as a douchebag in almost every post I read from you.

So because I know that enclosure tuning is personal preference and doesn't have much to do with "the design of the subwoofer" then I am a douchebag? Ok. It doesn't change the fact that Dr. Subwoofer said the same thing about 30hz. lol

dude that built it for me is saying he tuned it at 34.7 hertz... but during the burps it was loudest at 40. so is it at 40 or 34.7?
Your builder is not a very knowledge person. I'm normally not that direct, but after several post exchanges between him and I, I can say with out a second thought that you need to find a better "friend" to help you out with your system.

You have very limited space in your trunk. If you want to stay with a single 15, then lets do an enclosure with precision ports. That will allow you get to get back much of the volume you are losing from the slot port.

You would be amazed at how much difference a good enclosure can/will make.
