great review, from your install point of view. funny you're the first person i've seen with both drivers that prefered the q (including guys with lots of testing).But like you said the Q works better in your install and thats not argueable.Unfortunately i don't see where SI or FI even recommends the box you used but good review none the less. AS for the guys reading this review, unless you use the same box he's using please take this review with a grain of salt. Just for the fact that you said the Mag didn't hit low as good makes me really beleive that theres a box problem, considering thats the first thing most discovered about the Mag.What makes me laugh is weeks of reviewing subs for the great 12 challenge basically put the Mag on top but one review from db has people saying this review was better than the great 12 challenge. What also makes me laugh is all the guys thinking about buying the Q or owning a Q seem all excited from the only review i've seen that put the Q on top. I haven't heard both but seeing how the guys at FI and the guys at SI seem to pretty much agree and which sub is better, from what i've read. I honestly would be happy with either sub, but glad i got the Mag.

I guess I'll throw in my .02 cents.

1.one decibel is barely audible, at high volumes you'd be hard pressed to hear it with sensative ears.

2.Mag's have always been expensive, they've never been the best bang for the buck driver, people are just now admitting it since the boner's getting soft.

3.FI is rock hard right now

4. A subs ability to play low is a byproduct of the enclosure more than the sub, plus the lower you want to play, the more power you need, the Q got more power in those tests. Sure the mag is effecient, but it's been shown to take quite a bit of power if need be too!

aww, sounds like I never liked the mag in the first place and got a avalanche for half the price, BNIB, nice try though..............

It's not like I was lying about anything I said. Mag's ARE expensive vs other supersubs. The Q did get more power, which matters alot on lowend extension. And fi is the new boner, since TC and SI are on the way out this month.

edit: That came out wrong, it's not that I never liked the mag, but I felt the price was too high for what it was.

yes, I MUST be biased one way or the other. Franky I could care either way, I don't own either, nor do I plan to. I'm simply pointing out some audio generality's that tend to be forgotten when people talk about the flavor of the month. So please don't jump down my throat and call ME biased, mmm k? Unless you really feel like contesting any of my points then I fail to see where I'm being biased.

no, I simply pointed out what you just attested to fi is the brand to have right now". Not necessarily a bad thing, it's just trendy and in a few months something else will come along that people will claim "it blows away" the Q. Happens alot, people move on, it's part of the forums. I'm not saying that the Q isn't better than the mag, I'm just saying their is lots of bias on both sides either way. Which makes people get stupid and think their sub is the best thing ever, as well as leading to lots of sterotyping among subs.

If a person has heard both, and can't give an unbiased opinion as to what they hear, well, their opinion really isn't worth a whole lot in the first place regardless of the driver.

well heres what I know so far..

neither pair of woofers likes 2 strapped sundownz

running 1 of each woofer in the same box didn't do so hot

Q's dont sound as good as mags above 45hz

mags sound ever so slightly better under 45hz

both woofers have bottom end emphasis

both woofers pound hella wang in my box

mags look better

q's are cheaper

Lemmons is a tiny bit more sexy than Atwell

Atwell is a better kisser

Both will call you the day after and see how things are going
