Plain and simple, what are the pros and cons of 10 and 12 inch subs.

EDIT

I ask because I have heard on multiple occasions that a smaller sub will have tighter bass, but it sounds like BS to me.

Are there any pros or cons for using one size over the other besides volume?

its all a matter of the speaker design and the box design. 10"s are an all around universal sub. good mid bass etc. 12"s can be too but to an extent.

you're a moron.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

entirely too lazy to write a response that will have any meaning.
your logic is flawed if you actually believe the larger the sub= the less amount of low notes it can play.
He said they can be?

To an extent is such a relative term? So I don't understand how his logic is so flawed?

because using extent in a comparative term will mean not as much. so by saying a 10" sub will play midbass etc, implying a ten will play midbass (not what they're intended for to begin with, they're called subwoofers for a reason, subwoofer=sub bass=20-100hz generally, midbass is above)

but that's not wat i said. i did not say antying about notes
but i do love ur avatar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
i do too:laugh:

hmmm... Is there any real benefit to taking one size over the other? If I had an RE SX 10 and an RE SX 12 and the same amp pushing the same 1000 watts to each sub. what differences would i notice between the 10 and 12 versions.

no offense, but most "subwoofers" i see can play well above 100hz

but would you wanna do in a car with them behind you? no.
