1000w RMS?

Is there anyway I can test the amp if I purchase from Craigslist? Hopefully he still has it hooked up.If not then I'm willing to spend the extra $60.
just ask him to show u its in good working order. if he is like i cant and he has power/ground wire and rem in is ride he is full of sh it. if u cant test it i would by new. the price is good oh yea make sure if u buy it used to get the fuse holder and fuse. these amps do NOT have internial fusing. u will need to wire up a fuse befor the + of the amp.

Could I use the fuse included in this?

Amazon.com: SoundQuest SQK0 1/0 Gauge Copper-Clad Aluminum Wiring Kit: Gateway

For hooking up the two subs to the amp. Should I do it in Series or Parallel? They're 2.7ohms each right now.

thats a nice price but i never heard of that stuff. if they used amp works there should b a fuse that comes along with it. u dont buy the amp or less u see it in workin order. if they shows u it works then u say hey there is a fuse holder and a 100amp fuse that comes with these amps. u need that or u cant use the amp tell u get one. i say just buy it new

here u can click how many subs u have and what ohm load they are. then it will let u know how u can wire them and what ohm load u would end up with. keep in mind there is allways some kind of rise. lets say your final ohm load is 1 ohm u will b higher then 1 ohm.

that would b when u have your amp on and your playing music you will b higher then what u wire it to. its no big it happens to everyone.

Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams

They're 4 ohms with 2 Voice Coils. Each sub's voice coils are wired in parallel. I took an ohm meter and measured each sub and they're about 2.7ohms, depending on the temperature.

so there dual 4 ohm subs. can u tell me the model number so where on the same page? just use the link i posted for you and go from there. what ohm load u tryin to get to? or do u not know how to wire up the subs?

I have experience with electrical work but not sure how to hook up the subs and matching the amp.

Here is the model number, Vmax 124

and Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

ok dual 4's then? then yes that ap will work just fine for ya. i thought op post said dual 2's
My bad, I meant to say 2 voice coils.

if there dual 4 ohm and u have 2 of them it looks like u will b at 1 ohm if each sub is rated at what 500watts u might have to just keep the gain down./http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42
So I would be looking at an amp with 1 ohm stable @ around 1000w RMS? Which means the AP should be more than enough.
