10" type r box

Would this box be alright? I'm pretty sure it is, just getting some opinion before I build it. Dimensions are 31.75X11.25x10.5 with ~1.4 ft^3 of volume and 30.5 inches of port tuned to 33 hz.

It's better to run the port straight against the back wall rather than zig zag it.

Well I don't have anything to kurf cut the mdf and bend it if I do it that way. Is it really that bad to run it this way?

You don't need to kerf cut anything. Just join two pieces in an L shape.

I had my 2-10" Type Rs in a 2.15 cu ft box (after displacement) tuned to 35 hz...I thought it needed a bit more of the lowend stuff

it got pretty loud though

1.4 before sub displacement?

if so, I think you will be fine. If you want lower bass and want the sub to be more efficient you can make the box bigger...but it will probably get a bit boomy.

Hmmm. Since it is being underpowered.. Wouldn't you want the box larger? Decreases power handling but increases output. Right?

In theory, yes... but the sound can also change slightly, in favor of a more boomy sound.

Well i got it redrawn today. 1.4 ft^3 before sub disp. tuned to 34hz. Does this look a little better?

thats the same as mine, my port is like 1-1/2" x19"
