Head Unit: Alpine 9886, Eclipse CD3200 $300 or $280 shipped

Front stage: Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5's $87 shipped new on Ebay

Sub stage: Fi Audio SSD 12 with copper coils $194 shipped from there site

Sub amp: PG RSD 1200.1 $265 shipped from Ebay

Front amp: There is a JL300/2 on here for $175 shipped or you could find something equal i'm sure.

There thats right at a grand!! And will be much better than what you want to buy.

Note: you will have to roll some change for wire's and dynamat or an equal.

Hey guys, thanks all for the suggestions and I may end up doing some of that but I heard these 6x9s and was completley blown away.... The midbase they have is simply awesome I could put 4 of those in my car and not even need a sub, I challenge all of you to go to best buy and tune the system in with those and crank it without a sub on. But with that said I may look into a different head unit but I don't want to spend over 200.00 for that unless its reall important for better sound? What about a sony headunit? I had one of those on a sububan before and that system sounded great but it had no sub.... Suggestions? I can buy it from anywhere so just tell me the best on to get that is atleast 50x4 so I don't have to buy a seperate amp for the front speakers. I know thats best but cant fork out the cash for that right now.

I will be installing it myself as I said the guy I know worked at custom sounds for 2 years and installed hundreds of systems so he is the right guy. Thanks much!

I challenge you to goto any decent car audio shop and listen to some decent comps. Then come back here and brag about sony.

HEHE thats just it, i listened to top brands including morel at the audio shop and these sonys were still better sound wise. Smaller speakers the morels ruled but I was just gonna buy em in the same place.

I want a prebuilt amp box with the subs in it, thats why I will be going with the fusion subs, I heard them with my own ears and liked them so that won't change the mids 6x9 and 5x7s we can talk about though. I may look and see what boston accoustics has in those sizes and prices as I will say when I heard those a while back I did like them so... But ill take a trip to best buy tonight and listen to those speakers again just to make sure. I could have been in a state of gaga land and not heard what I should of.

Ok man, I have not seen one person on this forum that has agreed with the set up that you have posted. Take it from me, I have been playing with car audio for over 10 years but I was amazed at the knowledge of some of the members on this forum. That being said, you should really listen to some of these guys because I promise they know a whole lot more then some jacka** at best buy.

And also more then likely the sony's that you heard at best buy were amplified. More often then not they're sound boards all run through one amplifier of another. Even if it was a crappy amp it probably made those sony's sound better then the low end deck you were looking at. Trust me, you will be disappointed with those sony's when you run them on a deck. The acoustics in best buy are much different to, you were probably standing right in front of the speaker. They set those stores up like that on purpose, to get you to like the sound but it isn’t very realistic.

Don’t get to upset guys, I hate it when people ask for advice that really already have their mind made up and you cannot persuade them otherwise. He created this thread looking for answers like "yea that is a great set up" and when he didn’t get it, he is reassuring himself.

did somebody say anything about boston's?? Man i think you got your system set in your head already and you aint gonna let anybody change it. So i will say go ahead and buy what you think sounds best. Sometimes you just gotta learn by experience if you arent gonna listen to anybody.....

If you like sony stuff you should check out legacy amp they are the bestest. Then you need 2 12"s funky pups to get that deep bass. Then your gonna need a sony speaker in the grill of you car so you can be tight.

No he needs some B.A.S.S. (bad *** serious sub) 15's. they sell them on ebay for like .99 cents. They have a huuuuge 30 oz magnet. My buddy bought one to put in his truck, I gave him an infinity sub I had laying around and plugged the one he bought off ebay (the bad *** serious sub) into the wall. It was so awesome lol.
