Even a single R will have more output than the X. However, the X is a much better sounding sub.

2 type r's would be louder. More cone area. Why not just two Type X's, why one? Also what amp are you running?

what car, amp, electrical? ported/ sealed?

i have heard 2x type r 12s ported on 1200w and it was loud, but sounded like straight DOO DOO. my type x is not AS loud as the 2 r's but way WAY cleaner.

pick and choose. 2x type x + 3kw FTW (coming soon)

definately. but thats all i have to go from. like i said, it did get pretty loud but was awful sounding while doing so. the type r's aren't known for sounding good.

I've 2 X's on 1000RMS a piece and thats plenty for me. If you get 2 Type X's on 3k, post a video cuz I gotta see that.

I'm not familiar with MTX, how much power is that amp giving your single X right now?

i unleashed the mtx on it. it's seeing 1.2-1.5k depending on how high i turn it up. this amp does a rated 1.5k @ 2 on 14.4v and is very under rated. i plan to double everything as far as substage is concerned

i have the sub facing the inside of the car so i can hear it if it starts to bottom out. get's pretty loud considering it's an SQ sub in a ported box.

I bet it does. I couldn't begin to think of how loud 2 of those things would get on 1500 RMS a piece. I'm only using a prefab right now, but I plan on building a new box for mine once I get the money for the supplies. I wanna hear how these sound in a good enclosure.

i'm doing the 2 type x's in ~4 cubes @ 28-30hz on ~3kw (1 type x 12 per mtx 1501d)
