Hey

How I might go about wiring my sub (MA Audio Hardkore 15) to my mono block amp? Like I said in the title, it's a 1.5 Ohm QVC.

I was wondering what my options for ending impedance might be and how to wire them? My amp is 1 Ohm stable, but I'm thinking something more like 2 Ohms (I know it wont come out even, but the closer the better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

.75 + .75 will bring you back to 1.5ohm and be on the safe side. I had the same dilemma with 2 Critical Mass Audio UL-12's being 1.5ohm each of the dual VC's and Lanzar OPTI110001D which claims 1ohm stable.

Series/parallel the coils:

(1st pair of coils) 1.5ohm & 1.5ohm parallel = .75ohms

(2nd pair of coils) 1.5ohm & 1.5ohm parallel = .75ohms

Run the two .75ohm pairs in series: .75ohm + .75ohm = 1.5ohms.

Also the coil readings when static will be lower than the readings when the coil is passing current, the heat will cause the impedance to rise by roughly 30%...so 1.5ohm(static dcr) x 1.30% = 1.95ohms nominal impedance(roughly).

Any quality 2ohm stable amp should be fine with it. I used to own a TC3k quad 1.2 ohm coil and wired it the same way.

Thanks guys! Now, because I'm a total wiring noob (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/search2.gif.b407e3685eef133dbce7cac8ad3982c7.gif), how might I go about that?

Would I wire a positive / negative together from the first pair, then a positive / negative together from the second pair for the parallel?

And then just combine the two left over positives together and the two left over negatives together for the series?

Thanks again for the responses!!!

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Just had to make sure I didn't ruin something. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the help!
