1/4 ohm stability

doesn't JL amps handle like whateva you throw at em??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
First, no. No amp "handles what ever you through at it"

Second, there is one thing you need to realize if you ask an amplifier to play at 1 or 1/2 or even 1/4 ohm. It needs an assload of current on the front side (from the battery). I've experienced cars that actually played louder when the the amps ran at 2 ohms as opposed to 1. Why, because the car was able to provide the juice necessary for the amp on a two ohm load. There wasn't enough from the charging system of the car to supply the amp all the current it was asking for when it was playing the 1 ohm load.

It also lowers the amps efficiency and raises the current draw.
