acceleration rate decreases but speed is much greater after the 1/8.

If you go 0 to 50 in the first 1/8 and then 50 to say 80 in the second you will have a higher average speed in the second 1/8.

I think even if you just sustain the speed(you hit at 1/8) your 1/4 time will be less than 2x(1/8)
