1/4 mile et...

Compared to a camaro/firebird>mustang(of any ford powerplant) It also comes down to cubic inch 4.6 lters just isnt gonna cut it.And not to mention the power the mustang boys make ...when it is good it is wasted by their driving ( like dumpin the clutch on the street ?!?!)and the use of the 5speed( u mustang guys love them standards)

Um, the 5.0L pretty much ate up the Camaro/Firebird competition until the last gen F-bodies cam out. Now, granted the newer Camaros and Birds were a much better platform and more powerful than the Mustangs, but the Mustangs still dominated sales and aftermarket. I don't know why the F-bodies didn't sell well. Awesome package IMO. As for the driving comment, every group has their idiots. I don't know why you say power is wasted. Some people just like to have enough power to fry the tires whenever they want, some want to race, some want to show. You cannot simply single it out to Mustangs. As for the manual comment, why would I want an Auto? As for the 4.6 comment, hmm, I can spend $700 on a nitrous kit and have an easy 450HP. . . The 5.0 OHV has more displacement, yet isn't anywhere near as efficient as the 4.6, even the SOHC motors. I could go on with this. Really. You're making comments, but you should better educate yourself on the subject. The Mustang has not gotten it's place in history for no reason. It has not been a leader in the aftermarket and racing bodies for years for no reason. Think about it.

What cha mean by that?

Ever bring ya car to the track?I had a 95 Firebird Formula that I had been building since I was sixteen( got kicked outta school had to find something to keep me out of trouble) and final finished it,I had the Lt1 lots of time and money, but the car was stolen during Hurricane Katrina,I had just run it at the track for the second( first had bugs) a month before the hurricane,my best time was 10.98 with a 150 shot of nitous, and a 11.4x on straight motor,I only had 1100miles on the motor...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif But I still have my 88 chevy sb pickup I have gotten it down to the 13.20'snot bad for a full size truck will complete interior with all electric features(windows, seats etc.)

For got to mention the Bird still got 18 miles to the gallon

I can understand every group has thier own,Any mustang I have raced stock or tricked didnt have a chance of winning because of the driving straight up!,450HP? that anit shit, and drag racing is all about not having any variables( as few as possible),U will never hit that button(NO2) the same and shift the same with a standard

I know plenty of people with Mustangs whom I sure could beat you. Doesn't really matter. The fact is, there's ALWAYS someone better and faster. You're giving your opinions on your experiences. Fine. I've had my own and have been around Mustangs since birth and the Mustang Racing seen since it's beginnings in the early 90s. I know plenty to disagree and agree with you on all points. In the end, you opinion is in fact only that as is mine.

its really sad that someone uses their time to make a forum so people can get help in some area when they need it, then we have people like you that get on here and make people feel really stupid by answering with sumthin like you typed above. thanks guys

i had... i miss

'93 LX

complete GT40 upper/lower intake, TB, MAF

trickflow heads

E303 cam/1.6 RR's

Edelbrock equal length headers

offroad H-pipe/superflow mufflers/dumps

underdrive pullies

MSD ignition/distributor

Tremec 5 speed

SVO clutch

3:73's

mid 12's(12.6x i believe was the best run) on DOT slicks

vortec R-trim(13psi)

drag radials

high 11's(11.7, it's been about 8 years)

i know it would of done low 11's w/ slicks and the frame tied. i'd get about the drivers tire off the ground about 7~8" and some massive frame twist. i never got it to the track like that before it had a date w/ a concrete poll //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
