08 Nissan Xterra 150dbish music BUILD. Two DD 9515G's Stetsom 4k2d "PICS"

Currently it is untuned, we are doing that tomorrow with the power tests, and it is already awesome. Can't believe how loud it is with that Stetsom amp.
We will taking videos tomorrow and uploading them.

I'm far from knowledgeable on competing or putting up numbers at all lol, but in the little experience I've had with my buddies, I found that having a open space like that underneath the box really seemed to hurt the numbers. We had the amp mounted under the box just like yours and we couldn't figure out why it wasn't putting up the numbers we had hoped for. After a bunch of testing, we ended up losing the "amp rack" and setting the box flat on the floor gave us a pretty good size jump in the score. I believe it was just over 1 1/2 db. This was in an 04'ish xterra. Just a piece of advice that worked in my situation.

The build looks great man. I look forward to seeing this up and running. Nice equipment choice as well!

I appreciate the information and during testing tomorrow i may try it. It just tough trying to fit the amps somewhere, and having them accessible.

Tomorrows agenda is to tune the port. Probably have a spl and a music port as to see the difference. Goal is to tune it to Jordans listening for house and rock with some rap so around 44-45hz. And also do some power test. I'm expecting about 3500w at about 12.5v since there is no alternator.

Right now the music Jordan is telling me it's loudest at tells me it's tuned to about 40-42hz. I'm expecting around a 150db for music and that was the goal. Even if it hits 149's that's still more then enough.

Any reason why the aero was chosen over a crx style enclosure. Looks great btw, just wondering if Mr. Brown knows something I dont?
Been testing and building loud spl and sql enclosures for long time all types of cars including crx's. There are a lot of misconceptions about firing forward and firing up. It's all about how you tune it. Also a challenge is to try and make it play relatively flat. This is still kind of a test box. It's an educated "guess" from already testing the truck with a single 10" and working with this style before. Once i know how a vehicle peaks and what kind of music the person wants to listen to then design comes together. And aeroport is far louder and easier to tune then a normal slot port so that helps.

That's what you forsee with the 1 ohm load after rise, huh? I bet you're close. Since it's a ported box, I'm going to guess 3200 just to be different. I got almost 3100, but I have a sealed box though.

Will be waiting...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif

You where closer then my guess. He didn't have enough battery by far or it's more of his stock alternator. About 3150w on music rising to 4ohms but with voltage down to 11.4v. ouch. Needs an alternator for sure. And so far preliminary spl is music 149.7db and spl 150db. So right where I wanted it even though power was a little less then predicted. I'll post full results later. And so far after 5 hours of consistent full tilt testing amp is only 95 degrees. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And subs are at 75 degrees. More results to come.

Very nice. So those stetsoms can be ran t 1ohm ? Always wondered about that, since they don't specify.

Those numbers sealed as well ? Keep them comein.

Ok don't start saying or thinking they can be run at 1ohms because in 90% of the applications it I still don't recommend it nor can it be run that low. Only reason it works in this application is because of the subs used and the box design and size among other reasons. Most people don't understand how these factors effect how an amp can be run and if I start telling people that it can be run at 1ohms and they have a way lower impedance rise and not enough electrical then people will start over heating amps and potentially blowing them and I don't want that because that'll hurt the Stetsom name.

So again it's not recommended for less then 1.5ohms in almost all applications but if the application is right then it can be done like it works here. But in the soon to be posted results I'll explain why it works on this on or similar application. So please read the soon to be posted results before thinking it can be run at 1ohms. There is a very big down side to run at 1ohms and I'll be telling the down fall with the results.
