This is a build that I've helped my friend design and he's doing the work since I'm out of town. The goal is to music close or above 150db

Here is his build history to date

08 Nissan Xterra

Deck: Eclipse double din video touch screen with navigation

Interior speakers: Dynaudio Esotechs components up front and rear

Amp interior: Orion 800.4

Amp sub: Orion 5000D

Battery: Kinetik 2000 and 2400

His first set up was a single Alpine Type X in a custom slot port box with Orion 5000D @ 2ohms getting 1000w clamped power and spl 139db and muisic 138db but would heat up coil pretty quick.

His most recent set up was a single DD 9510G in a box that I built for him with a single 6" aeroport on a Orion 5000d at 1ohms or about 1300w clamped power. It would spl around a 144db and music in the 143db range all day long.

His new build will consist of

Subs: TWO DD 9515G

Amp: Stetsom 4k2d

First step was the install of the 100sf of Fatmat Mega Mat.

Still to come is the install of the subs and amp which will arrive by tuesday and testing with power and spl on wednesday.

ugh, dynaudio's on Orion amps :/ could be a lot better
Everything could be a lot better but the Orion was what he had from previous car and before he bought speakers for a hell of a price. Even though still sounds excellent and better then most cars.

Me likey so far. Subscribed!
Also how do you like that Megamat? Easy to work with........and have you ever worked with regular fatmat to compare? Just wondering.
Rattle trap and this is all I've worked with. Just as easy as Dynamat and works very well. I put almost 100sf Rattle Trap in my Yaris and I can wang in my Yaris at 135db+ and you can hardly hear bass on the outside of the car and I gained 1db just on bass. It's great when I don't have to worry about turning it down with cops or for neighbors at night.
