08 Nissan Xterra 150dbish music BUILD. Two DD 9515G's Stetsom 4k2d "PICS"

I would think it would meter / sound better firing the port back. Either way good work. I would love to get a listen sometime. I have not had bass for over a year.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
It's a little bit of a misconception about firing back sounding better. In general yes it'll tune lower and load port more depending on vehicle. It's all abut the way you tune port and box. When firing port back you lengthen the wave which depending on how you have the box tuned it'll sometimes will be louder and tune lower then flipping the box forward or up. To compensate when firing up or forward you just need to have the port longer and possibly the box a little bigger depending on how low you want to tune the box.

In this application since we where short on space and I didn't want to destroy his hatch I opted to fire it up. It does two things, it won't rattle the hell out to the hatch compared to firing it back and possibly in this application be louder. I've done firing up and forward and it can sound very good and loud.

So I am the one with the Xterra and building the car. Jeff has been helping the entire way with the design and planning.

So i got the Stetsom 4k in today and the amp looks amazing. Even thought it is little, i couldnt believe it. The power this amp puts out will blow your mind. Cant wait to put the 15's on this amp and listen to it. So far it has destroyed my Orion 5000d for power.

Tomorrow the subs will be arriving and we will get to see some real numbers on the microphone.

It has been a while since i had some real bass in my car. Being that i retired from the competion world in 2005 after being declared world champ in Meca with 161.7db in M3 but then disqualified for no seatbelts. Also took 4th place in Street Max 1-2 in db Drag.

Will be posting more pics as soon as the subs come in.

Saw the build in person (Im the one who is wearing the port as a neck brace.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) I saw the internals of the amp and they are absolutley insane. I've never seen such great craftsmenship on an amp that small!!! Thats coming from an old competitor who knows amplifiers.

The whole setup looks like its progressing very fast and will hope to have more photos and videos soon.

Thanks

is that box going to smash through that amp rack lift? lol it has to weigh at least 100+ lbs.
The sub box weighs about 210 pounds. The amp rack is supported in the middle and sides. Also built from 3/4 inch mdf. The rack doesnt even budge, and the box is secured to the amp rack from the inside the box to prevent sliding or rattle. So far so good.

You gotta get us some vids!!
How 'bout now?
Currently it is untuned, we are doing that tomorrow with the power tests, and it is already awesome. Can't believe how loud it is with that Stetsom amp.

We will taking videos tomorrow and uploading them.
