I don't think that this problem has anything to do with my audio system, but it can't hurt to ask. I have a 2006 Cobalt, and a 1600w hifonics amp wired to 2 alpine type r's (12s).
Ever since i got the car (before i got the subwoofers/head unit installed) it dies randomly. It's happened maybe 10 times now in 3 months. I go to start the car, i turn the key halfway so the lights and everything come on and it's normal. But when i turn the key to start the engine sometimes (Randomly) the car clicks once and everything just shuts down. Then the car needs to be jumped. Once the car is jumped everything will work fine for a while, and it will happen again randomly. I took it to the dealership (after removing the amp/subs of course) and they told me it was the body control module, and there was a service bulliten issued for the specific model of my car. So they replaced that, but a week after it happened again. What i think is weird is almost every time it has happened the radio hasn't even been on for days. It has only happened once when the radio was on and the subs were hitting. I think it's coincidence. But just to make sure, could my amp/subs be possibly causing ANY complication with this issue?
