04 Mustang Box plans

I'm looking for a nice set of sub box plans that would fit flush in the trunk of my 04 Mustang coupe. Something like this:

I have 2 JL 12w1 v2-4.

If nobody has any plans, I'd at least like to know the best way of measuring the curves and contours of the trunk so they can be cut accurately out of wood.

I'm also fairly certain the best way of doing this would be to make a standard rectangular box, then attatch a 'faceplate' that fits flush with the trunk. Any input on this?

Edit: Also, I have a few more pictures of the particular setup above if anybody is interested. It's a box being sold on eBay. I'm just more of a diy-er.

Many thanks.

There are two ways of doing that box. Make a regular sub box, and then use the face place as a double baffle... or just make all sides of the box except for the front plate, put in the box, then do the plates.

The only way I would know how to measure the curves and such for the sides is to get cardboard and cut it out so it matches perfectly... trace it onto wood, and use a jigsaw.

When people describe a box... they put the amount of internal net air (in cubic feet), then an @ sign, followed by the tuning (in hertz).

Thus, 1.5 @ 32 is a 1.5 Cubic Foot Net box tuned to 32 hertz.

Ok, so, my next question... I need somebody to help me design the box. I'm going to make the 'faceplate' afterwards and attach it in after the main box is done and in the car. So, I have no idea how to do this, and was hoping somebody could help me out.

I have 2 JL 12w1v2-4's, which require 1.5 f^3 of space each. I'm assuming the box would be divided into two seperate sections? Or would it sound better with just one section?

But anyway, heres the catch: It has to fit in my already extremely small trunk opening.

It can't be any more than 15" high, but the shorter the better. At it's widest, it can only be 32". I don't care about depth.

Here's some rough specs I found:

Rough Measurements 99-04 Trunks

3-1/2 Feet Wide with about 3-4 inch extra on side towards the *** end of the car...

15 Inches High clearing the stock speakers (my box is 15" high)

Back seat 11-1/4 Inches to slide thru without takeing the bracket off.

Trunk opening clears a 10 inch deep box

again these are rough u may be able to add a few inches to the width and trunk openening depending on what u do... the height is max tho!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE
And heres the opening I have to deal with...

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Yeah, the backseat opening is 11.25 inches, and my subs are 12's lol. so close.
there is a long head rest thing above the back seats. 3 nuts hold it down. remove those. then you will see three more nuts. take those off. remove the seat cushion. There are 2 (or 3) white plastic things you can use a flat head screw driver to slide over releasing the seat (These are located ware the seat meets the frame of the car)Ware the crease of passengers legs are. Once that is removed, you can pull the seat down reveling about 4 more inches of clearance.
