02 Ranger+Type R's+TCAB=???

I've never had a manufacturer ask about the box.But just lie and say you gave it the factory recommended power and enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Originally, no I was not.I have never heard of a manufacturer doing that.

Yeah same as the Rental car company asking why the motor threw a rod out the side of the motor. "I was just cruising down the road".

i dont understand the big deal about tcabs. its just a massive box, and the only reason its so big is because of the displacement of the port. they could save about 2 cu ft of volume if they used a smaller port and it would still be tuned the same. imo tcab=overrated

ok douchie, do you know anything? Big port = propper port area = louder then smaller but better fitting port with not enough port are. Next time you comment please take your head out of your arse first...

God d*mn are you stupid.

The boxes aren't oversized, they are PROPERLY sized. You have to have the proper port area for the application, you can't have one 4" port for 2 12's. And in NO way does a port EVER displace that much in most normal circumstances unless the port and box are just MASSIVE.

The boxes are built the way they are because thats how they need to be built.

ive gotta box close to 8 cubes with two 15s and the its got two 3 1/2 inch ports that are less than 7 inches deep. and its tuned to the same freq as a port 6 inches in diameter and 20+ inches deep. what im saying is, why does the port need to be so big when a much smaller one will act the same with less port noise? and at no point did i or will i ever have my head up my ***.

2 15's and two 3.5" ports?!?!?!

That was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY not enough port area. I'd do AT LEAST two 4" ports PER driver, maybe more like three.

unfortunately the size of the trunk doesnt allow enough area on the box to put 4 inch ports. i would have like to have gone a little bigger but i couldnt. either way, its still the same freq and i saved on displacement which was a good thing considering how hard it was to get proper net volume in my trunk.

you did when you made that box because you need a hell of alot more port area...

you have 2 15's in a trunk and your worried about propper fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm amazed that you are fitting 8 cubes in the trunk of a car.

Ever thought about maybe running only one 15/two 12's so you can fit a proper box in there?

Two 3.5" ports is REALLY choking the subs off.

it was a ***** to fit it. it actually came to about 8 cubes outer dimensions and it was built inside the car, not outside it and then put it. with driver and port displacement its about 7 net. i know the ports seem small but it was all i could do. they are very short so i dont expect too much difference in output over a larger port but if necessary i could always figure something out later. i though about doing six 2 inch ports 11 inches long but i wanted to save as much net volume as possible and still keep the 31 Hz.

Hm. Let's take some Type R's, put them in a box that will void the warranty, and throw way more than rated power at them. Not saying they can't take it, I just hope you realize what you are working with.
On top of this, anyone could build an upfiring box with a large port out the side that is way too big for recommended specs. Nothing hard to understand here.

I could have built you the same box and you wouldn't have hade to pay for shipping...
8 inch port is around 50square inches

it not so big
