'02 Pontiac Sunfire Factory Head Unit

They're manual, and I took the 4 screws off on the door panel but still couldn't figure out how to get the panel off. It was like it was attatched to the metal frame somehow on the inside and I didn't want to tear it all up trying to get it off. I still want it to be a nice looking car, you know? newayz, since you have the same car I do, maybe you'll know how to take that panel off a little better so feel free to share.

One last question I do have though is this: The guy I bought the kit from said that it didn't matter if I put the cap on the positive or negative wire, it would still do the same thing. This sounds a little if-y to me. You would think that you would have to put it either on both wires or, if it could work on just one wire, it would have to be one or the other for it to work right. Is he correct? Does it not matter which one I put it on? And if so, is there a preferred one to put it on? Thanx.

From wiring lots and lots of head units in GM vehicles.

if you do buy an aftermarket headunit you dont have to bnuy that 100 dollar part to make it work. my harness for my car that i purchased (02 sunfire) has a fused power wire long enough to go to the fuse box the only difference is that you chime for key in ignition and lights left on will not ding.
and what was the problem with getting into the doors? power windows/locks or manual?

yes, there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything, thats the wrong way.

wirign to the fuse box like that could **** up your airbags, and all kinds of other stuff is what has been taught to me, and not having that box might just change the chime to your ears and eyes, but who knows what else it controls in the car, better just to do it the right way.
