Breaking my day into two posts one for new items and one for actual work that got done.*

First up I got a pack of B-Stock Second Skin Damp Pro. I've never bought anything from them and this is just for my doors. First impression is that it's nice stuff couldn't tell what makes it B-Stock by looking at the first few sheets in the stack. I'm kind of spoiled by vibraflex 160 so I was expecting it to be thicker but I can't wait to roll some on. I like how it looks with the logo printed on the foil, also like that it says made in the USA.

Also got the amps for my doors, things are pretty neat. They're supposed to be the same as the PPI 900.4 but I think they're more visually pleasing also at less than $120 each they're going to be hard to beat for price to performance in my opinion. I believe the spider logo is supposed to light up but I'm not sure I also don't really care. I like that they come with the reducers to run 1/0 I don't like that the screws are all phillips style and not alan head. Nice compact case and I like the brushed aluminum looking case as well.

Size comparison to the Soundigitals.

Lastly I picked up a Shield to compliment my Glock wanted something a little cheaper to shoot and I might carry this occasionally the low round count and lower caliber are kind of hang ups as far as carry goes but size is a plus for some things I can tell.

Man....keep up the awesome work. It's def getting closer.

I got the next few weeks off from work so it's perfect for me to get a project done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif For me, you, him, whomever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

An idea for ya: I've changed those philips screws to allenhead types from the hardware store on my amps in the past. I agree, those phillips are cheap, and the heads get stripped easily over time.

Ok on to what I actually did today, started out by doing Kreg jig holes in both sides of the baffle and getting it loaded in to the shell easy peasy as it was a lot lighter with all the holes cut out. Then I attached the first two layers of loading wall after gluing them together. Afterwards I welded the steel core for the loading wall and attached one layer of wood with PL 8X and 45 self tappers. Ground down all the screw heads and then painted on a layer of Titebond, afterwards I attached it to the two layers of wood that were already in place with 50 more self tappers. So that brings the grand total for self tappers to 719 total so far.*The last layer of 3/4 and 1/2 inch wood are currently drying glue wise so tomorrow I will get that put in place the 1/2 inch is so I can get the proper thickness since the steel core is an inch thick. Tomorrow not much is going to be done as it's supposed to rain in the morning and I'm shooting clays and such in the afternoon with my friends. Might make the rounded piece of the loading wall but it will be alright. More updates eventually....

I'm seeing more and more use of that Kreg drill jig. How is drilling slanted holes for screws diff than the traditional way of drilling straight? Is it hold better, stronger or...?

Screwing boards together that are perpendicular when you can't get to the edges, also works for hiding on the inside.

I've seen both. Just wondered that's all. Seeing if there was much difference.

Well Saturday and Sunday I just kind of piddled around with some things cleaned up the garage etc. Everyone probably thinks this build is taking me forever but that's okay I just like having something to keep me occupied in my spare time, plus I have to live with it so I want it done right. Got the last couple layers of the loading wall put in and the round over put on if you want to call it that. 56 more self tappers so 775 total for the whole enclosure. Filled in all the Kreg holes with wood filler think I'm going to do paint of some kind. Put a couple pieces of angle iron in the front of the sealed side seemed like a good idea. I also cut some steel braces out of flat stock and left over 1" rod left over from my neo motors. Didn't weld them up though since I'm out of wire. Lastly I painted the fuse holders I made and then wrapped them to match my RCA box I think they turned out pretty good. I should be home in 3 weeks unless I hear from the union thing that I had to test for sooner so that's all for now.*

Oh also the front of the loading wall I did out of MDF because in my experience it's usually a little easier to paint/finish.

I dont think its taking for ever, you have just done 20x more than most do and it all takes time. I for one can totally appreciate what you have done and it looks awesome. I for one enjoy a build where you have a finished product that looks as good as it sounds. I also enjoy following your build.

Very nice that's a **** box I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 v8 as well I love it. I am also hoping to put a build in mine I have a box built for 6 soundqubed hds312s but it was a blowthrough for a truck.
Thanks I appreciate the compliment, maybe you could do a 6th order or a flat wall?

Thanks man it's just time consuming I guess, it won't have all the LED's and that crap but I don't want it to look like crap either especially if I have to look at it or show it to people within the audio community.

Well flew home today got a couple odds and ends in the mail PAC-LC1 which I thought might be a good idea, Blue Seas bus bars for connecting my relays to that will turn everything on and my Blue Seas OLED volt meter. The volt meter is the most exciting they're way better than the stingers etc and pretty fast I'll post a link to the video. I'm getting to the point where I don't have much to buy (I need 2/0, a fire extinguisher, some fans, different sized alternator belt for whenever I get that part done, fiberglassing materials, some different rear springs to support the weight from the build and that's about it)

Well between rain and social obligations I haven't exactly been an example of productivity. Anyhow small updates I guess I put my volt in what I think is an awesome spot. Took out the cigarette lighter and with a little dremmel work it fits like a glove looks good in my opinion.*

I really don't even mind the yellow like I thought I would.

I also welded up the braces for the sealed side finally, amazon sent me this gem of a spool but it works alright. The braces are teal*because they won't be visible and it was the first can I grabbed. The black pieces will actually be visible.

Also got the piece cut and router to cover the seam in the roof, also all the kreg holes have been filled in with wood filler and sanded down. Tonight my girlfriend helped me a little bit and did some staining for me. She likes to stain/paint so I let her help to keep her interested plus a learning experience so it's good. The stain will be the same on the inside wanted to bring out the wood grain I think it will look good.

Oh in an unrelated to audio note my new watch came in, other than audio I'm basically into guns and watches. This is an iconic Seiko I'm sure some of you may recognize.

Just gonna leave this right here...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Btw, guessing that's your gf in the pic above?
