Stereos with USB in Front???

That would be odd sin ce USB-A is supposed to be the new style being adopted after USB-C has been around a long time.

Seems like the high end stuff would use USB-A and the cheaper stuff would use USB-C

I'm not a high end user at all. As long as it'll play my MP3 music and sound decent, I'll be happy.

I'd imagine the stock speakers will sound a little better once I get the new stereo installed.

If not, I can upgrade the speakers.
Sometimes they work backwards it seems. That JVC will play CD quality and better through USB.

I have the JVC KW-V25BT in my other 2 vehicles and it works just fine for what I need.

Ears kinda ring as it is now from all those years of headbangin heavy metal, so I don't need a mega loud system.

JVC is one that I have not owned... not that I can remember. I have had Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony. Pioneer had the best radio reception. Sony powered factory speakers the best to my ears. Best all around that I have used so far has been the Kenwood eXcelons. I want to try one of the high end JVC head units just to see how they are. I bet they are pretty good.

USB A, B and C simply refer to the connector style. USB A is the original large flat connector on a thumb drive, and USB C is the smaller oval connector used on mobile devices (phones etc.). The C is also unpolarized and can be inserted either side up. USB 2.0 and 3.0 refer to the electrical "standard", with 3.0 having a faster digital transfer rate. For audio devices it's not important.

I have the JVC KW-V25BT DVD receiver in two vehicles now and I used this head unit because it has a USB port right on the front of the unit. (I'm kinda old school where I like to put my tunes on a USB drive and plug it in front.... and when I need to update my USB drive I don't want to have the USB cable from the back of the stereo over in the glove box)

Now, if there was a way to somehow attached the USB port coming from the back of the stereo to the dash someplace where it's secure (doesn't move) then I wouldn't mind that... but so far I've not seen any kits that all you to mount the USB port someplace on the dash where it's easily accessible.

I just got another vehicle and the according to Crutchfield the JVC KW-V25BT will not work with my new-to-me vehicle not to mention this model is no longer in production.

I've always had good results with JVC head units, but I'm not opposed to using Pioneer.

My new-to-me vehicle is a 2016 Chevy Colorado pickup... so are there any head units made by JVC or Pioneer that hav e a built in USB port on the from of the head unit?
I am also a fan of JVC, but I have the multimedia center without a DVD drive. I ran my USB cable to my console, as I also have all my music downloaded to a USB hard drive. When I want to add music, I unplug it and take it into the house. On a previous car, I ran the USB cable to an outlet in my kick panel. You can purchase the USB outlet on Amazon or eBay, and drill a hole to mount it in your dash or console. Here is a link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAMU8KY/?tag=caraudiocom-20

I've been just using a 32gig San Disk thumb drive which is way more room than I need... I have 3 different vehicles and I update my music collection to the thumb drive on my home computer as well. That way I have my entire music collection in all 3 vehicles.

The younger folks laugh at me cause I don't just use my phone... I'm so tied to my desktop computer (I run my own bidness from home) that I'm going to continue keeping my stuff there and not start using my phone. My entire life is on a hard drive... backed to 7 hard drives, 4 of which stay in a fire proof safe unless I pull them out to do backups and then back in they go.

That's the same USB cable I ordered that you provided the link for. I'll mount it somewhere in the lower part of the dash and maker er look professional! Well, that's the plan anyhow. :geek:

Yes sir!

This particular vehicle is new-to-me so I'll be happy when I get done with all the mods I wanna do including getting rid of the factory stereo and ge3t me new JVC installed.

Then I'll be like the Doobie Brothers rocking down the highway
