Can anyone recommend a premium CarPlay screen that has USB and will work with a USB DAC without any mucking about. Will list requirements below.
My old double din headunit in my l200 died. Was going to replace with a higher spec double din CarPlay unit. Either std double din screen size or with my alternative 9” capable surround something a little bigger.
Started to wonder though if I could have an alternative idea. I also have a cubby where lower spec l200’s had a single din unit. So maybe I could wheel out one of my classic competition grade head units (with eq and time align) and obtain a wireless CarPlay portable screen that will work with a quality USB DAC and feed the headunit aux input with it.
1. Wireless CarPlay (would like if it works wired CarPlay as well) screen that will mount in double din aperture. Or a 9” screen that allows it to be mounted in an aperture easily and doesn’t require a stand.
2. Must be plug and play compatible with a USB DAC (type that doesn’t need specific drivers).
3. Premium quality - needs to look nice as in good screen, good materials and rock solid firmware/software.
4. It would be nice if it could switch to aux input if it has something to say (like if I am listening to radio and a direction instruction came up) but don’t suppose there is a way to make that work. Unless I could hook up the screens std audio to phone input and have it trigger the tel mute.
If anyone has any ideas or recommendations I would be very appreciative.
