toyota sienna 2013 crossover and remote turn on

Hello, Im tryn to add an amp and a subwoofer to a toyota sienna 2013. It has a stock radio (not the JBL system).
I was thinking of using some line converter to make it work but wondering if I still need a crossover?
Also, I don't see a blue remote wire coming out of the head unit? How do I get around that?
The amp I have is ARC audio ks_300.2

Your amp will have a built in crossover
Just set it to low pass around 80hz is a general default range

As for your trigger
My patriot is similar
I spliced into my cigarette lighter power for accessories control

Another option is to purchase a fuse adapter
It's a fuse socket with a wire coming out
Find appropriate fuse that turns on when key is on accessories
Pull fuse
Plug adapter in
Then put fuse into adapter
And run wire to amp

Maybe someone else can chime in for your specific vehicle if they know any easier ways

Thats a good idea. I have a cigarette lighter Im not using. And I don't need a crossover, awesome! I just don't understand how that works. How does it keep the low frequencies out of the stock speakers if they are not hooked up to the amp? total newbie question. sorry. Thank you!

It doesn't

The ks 300.2 will only control the speaker you hook up to it

that makes sense. When I turn up the volume these door speakers sound distorted with low frequencies.

Most of us here are car audio enthusiasts and most might say it's ideal to upgrade your factory speakers especially if adding a subwoofer

Maybe there is some sort of passive crossover or bass blocker you can add to your factory speakers to help cut off some of the lower frequencies

It might help some but may still leave you itching for a bit better performance from your mids and highs
Also note a passive crossovers will consume some wattage typically not a deal breaker but given you are using a factory headunit you are probably getting like 7- 10 watts to a driver which is something to consider

If you search for 80hz - 4ohm highpass filter you could find them on parts express or audiostatus

Note that you may want to connect your loc to your front 6x9 as most factory systems send lower frequencies to the front signal, and if you tap into speaker for signal to your loc you may want to splice in before the passive crossovers where the signal still has the lower frequencies

Also briefly searching Google I noticed something saying your rear 6.5 is non replaceable? I'm assuming it's molded in to a panel

Txs supernov, that was very useful info. Yes, all speakers in this car are a PITA to replace thats why this crossover idea is perfect. Would I still need that crossover if I replace the speaker? I might be able to at least in the door and dash. Any specific speaker I should look out for?

If you buy componet speakers they typically come with passive crossovers

If you want to use raw drivers from parts express or madisound then you would need to source or mcquiver some passive crossovers

Im a bit of an alpine fan boy when it comes to common generic brands​

Alpine S2-S69C seem interesting ​

6x9 midwoofer
And 3 inch coaxial with tweeter
That might fit your dash as your oem dash speaker seems to be a 2.75
But minor trimming might be needed

One more question..before I screw up I might as well ask you. Trying to splice that amp into the door speaker. Im confused about the correct wires. I see all kinds of conflicting info out there. The first pic is from the wire harness in my car, the other red one is from crutchfield. It shows a grey and green wire. Is that the right one? is the right and left side of the car the same (in terms of speaker wire color)?

I couldn't say forsure
You would need to make sure you have the right wiring schematic
Sometimes manufacturers change the colour from inside the door to outside the door where the harness clips

Maybe best to start a new thread in the wiring installation category

I don't typically do oem type builds
I more of a gut the car and build
