got the 300 amp alternator installed today, no more dimming lites. It has 150 amp at idle and 300 amps at 1200rpm. I probably should have upgraded before adding the sub and amp since it still had the original 18 year old one.

Once you get the electrical sorted out may I suggest building a specific enclosure goal oriented for that vehicle.

A prefab is a prefab, and enclosure is the biggest upgrade once you've owned a prefab.
An enclosure is the musical instrument IMO, subs are more like oscillators, like a reed is an oscillator. Sub boxes are wind instruments; a reed with no wind pipe means absolutely nothing, won't make sound. That's how it is with subs because the wavelength produced by the sub is so low that effectively the box is the sub- just like a reed is needed to play a saxophone. Can't have one without the other- the box makes or breaks a sb system regardless of sub. Bad box = bad system, bad subs and good box = way better than bad box and good sub a lot of times, most times, because sub is just an oscillator, but get good both haha

"The reed tongue then moves freely each side of the impulsing region to oscillate virtually sinusoidally with a high Q-factor. Thus oscillation is practically isochronous, frequency being virtually independent of amplitude (loudness) and hence blowing pressure. Periodic air pulses are emitted from the time-varying windway of the tongue as it oscillates, the pulse shapes defining the harmonic content of the waveform and thus the timbre of the sound. Pulse shapes vary with blowing pressure."

Organ pipes are the best way to understand with reeds and flues and why subs need boxes and organ pipes are just t-lines as we call them.

Facts! That's why subs and cars go together so well.

Engines and subwoofers are nothing but air pumps. The more air they move, the more HP and SPL the produce.

Piston bore = subwoofer SD.
Crankshaft stroke = subwoofer xmax.
Intake and exhaust systems = ports, tapers and flares.
