Hello. Newbie here. Have not messed with car audio in years but need advise.

I have a 2024 chev 1500 that the dealer added in this part number 19417164 sub, amp and enclosure kit.

The amp has now died and kicker will not sell a replacement amp.

I want to reuse the 1ohm sub and enclosure .

Any issue wiring in a new after market sub using the same hi level input connections that the kit used? Maybe. 300 watt monoblock. I don't see where the kit interacts with any other components of the stock Bose system. Just the Right rear speaker hi level inputs.

Using an aftermarket sub with the existing enclosure and a new amp is definitely a viable option. Here’s what you need to consider:

1. **Ohm Rating and Sub Compatibility**: Ensure the new aftermarket sub is also rated at 1-ohm to remain compatible with your existing enclosure and utilize the same performance level.

2. **Wiring**: You can reuse the high-level input connections that were used in the factory kit. Since you're already using them to interface with the stock Bose system, make sure that the new amp also has high-level input capability, or you can add a line output converter if needed.

3. **Monoblock Amplifier**: A 300-watt monoblock amp should work well as long as its output matches the power-handling capabilities of the sub. Just be cautious about the gain settings to avoid overpowering the sub.

4. **Power Supply**: Ensure that your new amp is correctly wired to the battery for power supply, and verify that the amp can handle the load without issues.

5. **Integration**: Double-check that integrating the new amp doesn't interfere with any existing components of the Bose system, like equalization or signal processing.

As long as everything matches up and is wired correctly, reusing the high-level inputs should work well for your setup. Always make sure to follow safety procedures when dealing with electrical components in your vehicle.

THANKS. #5. Integration. Is there a special way to check? I have never done this on a new vehicle. Only as a kid 40 years ago. Old school tech

The kicker amp is an amp like any other amp. Find an amp with the rms power you need at 1ohm that has high level inputs on it. Wire it the same way the other amp was wire. Beef up the power and ground cables if you can i.e. thicker cables.

Sounds good. I ordered the amp and a wire kit

That's a good amp. Kicker makes some really good amps. Sure there are other brands that are less expensive, but with a Kicker amp, you know you it will more likely be more reliable and produce the power they say it does.

They had a Bose system on the truck or car already. Mono amp so you’re using only 1 subwoofer to one amp, and no other speakers on the truck. Make sure the LPF is set. The amp will bypass all other speakers head straight to the sub at 1 ohm. Very good. The 4 speaker are counted as 1 lined up in parallel. Then the sub. That makes 2 channels. You may need a mid bass cross over for your sub, it will hit the midranges instead.

Next question. Everything I research. Indicates the high level feed that the kicker sub/amp/enclosure kit uses is the right front. Yellow and yellow/black wires.

Hooking an old speaker up I get feed from both wires. Diagram shows yellow + and yellow/black - .

Old speaker works with. Using yellow and yellow/black. Yellow and ground, yellow/black and ground. Very confus3d

Should the speaker work with using yellow and a ground. As well as yellow/black and a ground?

What am I missing ? The kit had the yellows as inputs and and at the amp input was green and brown. There were also 2 out puts from the amp for the dvc woofer.

Is it the Bose system? Thos3 were the only 2 feed in to the old amp but there were 2 sets out for the dvc speaker.
