I was wondering how long i can play my music before my car battery dies. I have a second battery XS POWER ( XP 1500) 47 AH
RC:70

My sub amp is pushing 1.4k and my chuchero (2 mids in a box with a driver) is pushing only 450

Assuming im playing it at max volume how can i findout how long i can play before it dies? So i dont idle my car forever...

Did you try it 24 hours? It won’t pop a fuse. The radio requires little power to turn on and stay on. That means the amps can run on no power added and yet still remain on. But on the MOSFETS to the car radio and subamp, there is such a thing as a DC offset. Where too many DC passes through it. Causing the MOSFETS into saturated mode and cause the amps to shutoff. No sounds. I think it will probably come close. The battery won’t die. Recharged. Just no radio. Not sure if you can get it back. It will probably return. Again. Then sounds again.

Check your specs to see what the actual amp draw is for your system. My experience is a few minutes!!! I sat in a parking lot using my cell phone and cut the car off. The radio continues to play until you open the door. The music sounded good, and I forgot to open the door. I sat for approximately 14 minutes. When I tried to start up, I got the dreaded click-click sound. My total amp draw is 115, at full throttle, and I was below half volume. I can't imagine playing it at max volume. My hearing is too precious. Triple AAA was my savior.

Music is dynamic so there is no way to know. The best advise is to monitor the voltage meter and make sure you have a way to jump start the car.
