Featured 2010 ford ranger, which door speakers???

Put in 2lbs of a Acousta-Stuf poly fill be Dox recommendation, JR & I are mind-blown, sounds like a completely different system.........
ordered another 1lb for my jl 12 tw3 in my tacoma.....

I thought blown ears was the objective, no?

That is cool, always fun when something simple like that makes an improvement!
I know its case by case situation "box config" but have seen a few videos stating they didnt notice a difference by stuffing....
In this situation, it was a huge / drastic improvement, nothing subtle....

I try not to oversell it, case by case results vary and they are usually subtle, but the one thing I am certain of, it always seems to improve the quality of the sound, regardless.

I've never used anything except for the Acousta-stuf or Australian long haired wool, other things might work well but I just figure,, if it ain't broke. don't fix it!

Whenever someone brought me a prefab box, I would always ask them what type of sound they wanted. If they wanted a deeper sound, I would fill it. If they wanted a harder hit, I would leave the fill out. Even with Loaded JL Audio boxes. The sealed ones come with polyfill, so I would take it out of people wanted a harder hit. So yes, poly fill makes a big difference.

I think he & I both prefer the deeper stuff....
I never thought this set-up really even hit very hard though either, strange to say but I think it improved all aspects...
I can definitely feel it more in my back than prior....
This wasnt a prefab...
Kind of bummed with the outcome of the box, but it is what it is. Didnt cost me any more than buying a prefab.
The back wall of the ranger has a 1/2 - 1" inset so the builder used 2 separate sheets offset to mirror the back wall...
He also built the box out of 5/8 MDF instead of 3/4", so the seat wasnt crammed all the way forward....
Needless to say we blew the back of the box apart......

When he repaired it he installed some large pieces of 3/4" bracing on the inside of the rear wall of the box, taking up volume is my concern....
I never played it after the repair without the poly fill,
Once I got the box back I waited for the poly fill to come-in before reinstalling the box,

Regardless if the volume is less now, sounds great with the fill...

My son is finding out the drawbacks of having a hard hitting sub in truck. Every weekend he's out tracking down a new rattle. So far, he had to rattle proof the door panels, tighten the rear window (yes, the rear window came loose), and tighten dome light. He has an NVX VCW12v2 in a ported box.

I did the panels from the get go, got lucky & no rattles as of yet....
I remember you showing me the box you made, on another level.....

My nephew just got his license. He has a single cab Ranger. We will be doing a cut-through on it with 2 tens.
Why just 2 10's if youre going to go to the extreme of hacking the truck-up....
Why not 2 12's...????

Looking at my kids 2 10's behind the seat, they look really gay.....lol
Tiny!!!
I dont like it....

10's are what he wanted. He might go with 3, but that depends on his budget. He doesn't want that big of a box in the bed. He wants to use a low profile tool
box to hide the sub box in.
