picked up a pair of nvx vcw102v3. think a kicker key 500.1 would push one of them?

Are you looking at putting one amp per sub? Those subs handle 500 watts each. A single amp will push it, but not as hard as they should be.
I was going to push just one speaker with that amp in a single 10" box. i have it (the amp) already installed behind the panels in my bronco And its currently pushing two older memphis 10's subs pretty decently and I'm hoping pushing just one of these nvx's will be better

It'll depend on the enclosure, but it's hard to beat displacement.

ya.. I tried it last night and ... that amp doesn't push it all that well :(

I have a 2k sundown amp on my shelf so maybe I'll tear apart the bronco and swap that one in. I can just never get that sundown to sound good. so I never use it.

I tried it in a few different boxes... interesting how much difference a box makes. the sounds varied quite a bit.

A fair warning: I ran a VCW on a fairly small ported enclosure on around 1k rms and it bottomed out very easily. Be careful how much power you are putting to them and make sure your subsonic filter is set dead on if you are going ported. Otherwise, they are great subs.

If I'm guessing correctly you are using a SFB-2k? Make sure you keep an eye on the clip light. Full bridge amps are super suseptible to voltage fluctuations due to their design making the signal clip easier. Will result in higher excursion levels and more heat running thru the coils

And the radio? How many ohms to the radio? 4 ohms or 1 ohms. May actually not work. Is this a mono amp? It would be a good idea to make it all uniform. If possible 4 ohms. Do you have a degree? or a resume? ttt123. So that I'll know if you're legit. Otherwise, you're not hired. So not fired too. Just not working here. If anything, lower ohms doesn't mean more power. It just means less resistances to an AC input to any changes in the system itself. Impedance means that. You're asking will this work? No. Static and hard to hear. One more thing then I'll stop, when the ohms are all uniform, it's a good idea, to match the amp you're using to the 4 speakers you got on your car. Then go with the mono amp and sub. But make it four ohms. This set up works. Find out ohms and speaker watts, then match that to the amp you're using. Then you've got the correct formula. This works.
got a good deal on a brand new pair last night so i jumped on it. i have a skar single 10' sub box i was going to put one of them in and see how it does with that amp(nvx vcw102v3).

thoughts
