Nope. That's not what the owner wanted. If it's built right it won't leak. The front patio is on a 1/12 pitch. We get about 4" of rain per year. The leak will be at the bottom of the siding because I couldn't drop it a couple of inches below the slab. The bottom plates will really have to be sealed on the inside of the laundry room. The owner knows this and doesn't care. Thanks for your concern.

That's why it has almost a 30" overlap with 30 pound felt paper under the shingles on the front patio. The patio also has open rafters underneath 16" o.c. The patio was put together with Deck Mate T-25 Torx head screws (not 3¼"x.131 Hitachi nails). If you want something to rip on then you should be ripping on using pressure treated posts as structural members (not recommended) or not having the posts on a concrete post base. The posts should be 2" above grade on a Simpson post base (pb44's IIRC).
