Switching From 8's to 10's

It's not a bad idea if he has room and I bet he would get those 3db.

wouldnt hurt to try it. Those 8’s aren’t expensive so it’s worth it imo.

I would try 4 more 8’s and a second 3500 watt amp. Double the power and double the cone area. If the box is anywhere near big enough it will be louder.

3.5 cubes for 8 - 8's is a little too tight IMO.

How about this? Top port instead of side port for more port area and greater internal space to mount the subs?

I need the port to load against the passenger side. The port is about 4" from the side. I think 4 - HD10's is the way to go. 1,200 ounces of motor and 3" voice coils.

You could still work a long slot port on the back wall of the enclosure right? The it could load off the side but not take up so much of the top of the box.

I was thinking like this... the red area would be the port which would give you all the green area inside the enclosure... I think it would give you more airspace per sub.

I need the mounting depth on the bottom and port on top. I think the HD10 is 7.7" deep.

How did you photoshop that picture with the 8 - 8's.

I selected around all 4 subs, copied, then pasted back into the picture then moved them up, distorted the angle slightly, erased some stuff and BAM!!

Do you think that’s enough airspace for those 10’s? Website recommends 1.5-1.75 per sub but as discussed, not sure how accurate their specs are.
