Switching From 8's to 10's

I expect it is 3.9 and will be a little less with the larger subs. It's very narrow and the port probably displaces a fair bit how lot he has it tuned.

Really no way to guess how the peak frequency will change, have you modeled the 4 subs in that airspace and tuning? What does box software predict?

I haven't and really don't know how to. I'm not going to lie and say that I do. I've been looking at the VFL 10's. They are 800 watts rms each. I've been looking at a Smart5 to use as the amp. I wish the SIA5000 would get released.

53-½" L x 7" top 11" bottom W x 24" H wedge box. The notch is 9" L x 2" W x 24" H. The port is 3-½" wide at the top and 5-¼" at the bottom and 10" tall. The length of the port is 22-¼". I did some math and it's 5.69 cubes before port and sub displacement. The box is made with ¾" MDF.

I would ask Buck to model it and see what he comes up with.

Download WINISD, add Vats Fs and Qts (the only parameters that really matter) and plug in volume and tuning. Be mindful of units, in winISD you can just click the unit and go from cm to in or ft or whatever by clicking on the unit.

Why not buy the SFB 5K on blowout sale? Worst case scenario it breaks in a year and Sundown just replaces it with whatever newer model because they're out of the SFB.

Let me do some math real quick. If my math was correct then my port takes up .71 cubes. That would leave me 4.58 cubes for four tens. Shouldn't that be enough? I only have about 44 square inches of port. That's fairly small for 4.58 cubes.

I will be putting 4 - 10's in 4.09 cubes before sub displacement. I'm figuring about .92 cubes per 10.
