Best 21 inch neo subs out?

Looking for an efficient accurate lightweight neo motor 21 around 3K to run ported or a pair of them to run sealed on 1,500 RMS each.
Looks like I'll have about 13 cubes gross to work with so should work.
Wanting to save some weight and still have a high impact system, someone told me to check out pro audio 21s that are really efficient and have really big voice coils with around 20 mm xmax.

All responses appreciated

I wouldn't recommend 21s then. I had my two in 22 cubes.
yeah two ported definitely wouldn't work I was thinking one ported or two sealed.
Somebody recommended checking out the pro audio style 20 ones with high efficiency and really big voice coils I checked them out they had about 20 mm of x max and something like 99 decibel sensitivity while not weighing much
Never heard any pro audio subs in a vehicle so not sure what to think but I know I do love the muscular impact larger Subs provide

I personally would just run two car audio 15s ported. Most pro audio 21" drivers are more designed towards mid bass and not sub bass. Plus they usually come in single 8 or 4 ohm configuration. I have seen a 4 18 pro audio wall a long time ago down here in Florida and it was very impressive but didn't really play low.

Most of the PRV demo vehicles at all the shows run them for their stunt walls. If you aren't concerned with playing under 40hz go for it. Would be different for sure.

This is the FR of the PRV 18" As you can see it drops off pretty quickly at low frequencies.

After running the dimensions it looks like I'll end up with 13.27 cubes gross before any displacements are factored other than wood thickness.
I was thinking subs and port bracing and everything factored in with an adjustable aeroport box I should end up with at least 11 cubes net.
That instantly made me think 2 15s ported as well, right at 5, 5.5 cubes Max recommended air space or one of these new 21 in Neo subwoofers to save some weight which I would really like to do.
Wanting to go ported on this build and still maintain the ability to have sharp musical response and would like to keep that bandwidth down to 30 hz so I will stick with the car audio subs .
I'm normally a quad subwoofer guy but I can't get the thought of a muscular 21 inch ported sub out of my head I know it would have some snap and be more lightweight kill the lows and be very different.

At this point I'm considering and incriminator audio judge because I love the shorting ring built in to it and the 8 layer voice coil that has the responsiveness of a 3in and the thermal power handling of two of them in one with good BL since I want to run ported.

have really big voice coils
Those type of subs have large diameter voice coils but the wind width is very short and wire gauge is really thin compared to anything you would see in a modern high powered subwoofer. They are more meant to mount in a refrigerator sized bass bin in a club or concert hall and run off a few hundred watts PA amp. If you have 10 cube stick with two good 15s.

That was my instant reaction when I realized I had about 10 cubes to work with as well. Then I got to thinking about something different I could do but common sense still points to 2 15s 4 12s or 1 21 ported. Out of those options which do you think would have the best impact and response?

I have always wanted to try a pair of FI BTL 15s, but the website is down and they don't have them available. What else is musical and responsive with decent SPL and lightweight with a neo motor?

Thanks again

IMO it would really depend on the subs but any of the above should get you about the same place if you're prepared to spend some time testing and tweaking your box. With the caveat that you'll get more power handling with more coils all things being equal.

The Fi neos are probably the most affordable in that category (and also good performers). Sundown or DD will start at over 2 grand. Not sure if IA still makes 21" Warden but while that's a neo motor it isn't exactly saving a lot of weight. They're rather heavy.

You might consider contacting one of those Alibaba companies doing the DD-Z knockoffs. Pretend you're trying to start an audio company and order a couple """samples""". I've always been interested to see how they perform and that's probably your only < 1000$ option these days. Also **** windmills driving up the prices of rare earths.

Yeah that's kind of what happened last time I was looking around for neo's. More money and shopping involved than actual good options.
I still have those three stereo integrity SQL 12s I recently got because we went on a 70-hour a week rampage for the last couple months and now Im getting a RAV4 so I'm thinking about putting those in the RAV4 maybe I might add a fourth to fill out these available airspace and do a subs up Port back box that SUVs seem to like.

I'd say 4 12s on 4K with xbl motors should sound pretty decent in an open air vehicle and since I'll be saving so much weight going lithium I'll probably be okay.

Those sql's will sound so good too

I've had a 21", I've heard them. IA makes a really good 21". Does Fi make a Neo 21"? The Warden 21" was a f*cking beast.
I just looked on fi's website and they now are offering the neo 4.9 version in a 21!
Comparable to an sp4 or team series with a 4-inch four layer aluminum flat round coil with optional upgrade to the team coil $3,500 to 4500 Watts capacity seems like the perfect fit for me.
I was just talking about how I was seriously considering a I.A. neo might be willing to pony up for the warden but I'd say the FI is a much better deal and will be plenty.
I really was wanting to do a larger sub on this build like a 21 and that if I looks like the best option for me because of its power handling, light weight, and those are known for sounding good as well.

I would get the 21" that has the most motor strength and maybe the lowest Mms, it depends on the ratios. You want that cone to push really hard with that much cone area.

It says the wardens have a 2021 model coming soon so I can't get a price on them what do they usually run?
Looks like everything neo@fi is out of stock right now and you can basically build it how you want there lots of great looking options just don't know when they will be back in stock. Come to think of it that's why I didn't buy neo last time lol.

Fi is catching up on a ton of back orders. With covid and people spending money on car audio like crazy they have had 3-4 times the normal orders so instead of 45 day wait period it has been close to 10 weeks. So they stopped taking orders till July iirc till they can get caught up. Plus one of their employees had covid and shut the place down for cleaning and quarantine for 10 days as well so that don't help matters.

Thanks for the info bro it's still not that long to wait they'll probably have it done before then.
I'm really interested in the fi neo 4inch coils, got everything I want and can custom order.
