Zvx 8 vs Sundown sa-8v3

I just want to experiment with 8s. I'm well aware of what I can do with the space. I could have sworn I posted this in the subwoofer section.

I went with two of these for my next build. I want to put them in a 2 cube net box after port and sub displacement. I'm going to put 2K on them. AB HD8.

I just got 3 of them. I'm thinking about trying a Soundstream txp1.12000d, but it is probably a bad move? It didn't come with box recommendations, but the previous black basket model said 1.1 cu ft? Is the magnet weight 150 or 173oz?

If you do a ton of power, you can go smaller on the box size, to an extent. Usually AB's subs do good in about 1 cubic feet per 8 for ported. Don't go too small though, you'll keep the woofer from moving too much at certain resonances and it'll kill some frequency ranges.

That's quite a large motor for an 8", I bet they could probably take 800 watts on music if it's clean, maybe above 30-35 hz or so. But you'd have to be very mindful if you're overpowering woofers that much, especially on low notes. That's one reason I like putting woofers in 6th orders, you can use all of the power and both the front and rear wave can be absolutely controlled for massive bass.

I swear 6th orders are awesome for overpowering stuff, because you can like extract all of the power into sound because the woofer isn't pressurizing the cabin at all, it's pressurizing the box first, completely basically, before it even touches the cabin. Concentrated and tuned bass.

The AB HDX418 6th order I did, it's a 2000w RMS woofer on a 8500 watt amp at .5 ohms for a forum member. He is running a ton of power to that sub and it's working great in that 6th order. I'm told it's very violently loud, the headliner won't stop slapping the roof. So maybe just some food for thought.

What vehicle are those 3 8's going into man?

I had a pair of ZVX8s. They sounded good in a big ported box. As for mechanical noise, I too noticed that, but it did not increase along with higher power. But, the tinsel lead thread that holds them to the spider tore closest to the cone. ALL 4 tinsel thread on BOTH subs. Rattling at all volumes, I thought I had killed them. Ended up gluing tinsel to cone where they scarred it. Black surround glue worked great.
Nevermind I read that wrong
