Sub wiring help.

Ok so I have a question about the impedence of the set up I am thinking about doing. I have a set of kicker comp r dvc12 inch subs (2 ohm) and a 2500 watt class d 2 ohm mono amp. If I were them at 4 ohms a piece using the second coil this will create a 8 ohm load and would essentially make the amp produce 625 watts for each speaker correct?

Not sure exactly what your asking but here are your wiring options
The 8 ohm load will cut your amps power output back considerably

That's what I am trying to do exactly. The subs are rated at 1000 watts max a piece at 2 ohms and a 2500 watt amp at 2 ohms would deliver the full wattage so if my understanding is correct then a 4 ohm load will cut the watts in half to 1250 and a 8 ohm load will cut that in half again to 625. The subs are said to work best at around 500 watts so trying to get as close to that as possible with my limited options.

4ohm only puts out 450w. 8 ohm will be much less than that. The output isnt just simply “divided in half” as you raise the impedance

So if I'm understanding correct 2 ohms puts out 650 rms? So I would want to wire my subs in the 2 ohm configuration to get 650 watts to each speaker?

That amp only puts out 1 channel. So 650w total is what you’ll see, divided by number of speakers.

Never pay attention to the max output numbers
I don't know how they come up with them but must get all the planets to align to get those numbers
RMS is the figure your working with and that amp is 650@2ohms
Your best option is to wire the whole thing to a 2ohm load and that should give you 325 watts to each sub

I'm not a fan of that company my self
But I'm guessing your looking at something around $300?
Try Taramps or the SFB line for Sundown audio

Honestly, I’ve run bamf. Anddd I’d say find a better amp. Those are 500rms, so I’d say look for an amp that can do 1500-2000rms on 2 ohm. What about a taramps?

A taramps md3000 1ohm version, wired at 2ohm will provide you 1920watts! And provide you with power if you upgrade later! The 1ohm version can provide you that power at 2ohm now, then in the future get 2 dvc4ohm subs, and you’ll have 3000w at 1ohm!

They don't give the 14 volt numbers but 12 volt numbers on this amp are 1000 watts at 2ohm
