Mechman Alt Quality?... Better than OEM?

I bought a 320a Iraggi last summer. Their site is still up. I hesitate to bring it up because opinions are so polarized, as you said. My experience was great communication and a beautiful product. I don't have the means to properly bench test it, but he offers a limited lifetime warranty and trade-in if you get a different vehicle.

I think he's a good builder man, personally. Everything fails sometimes, everybody has some defective products occasionally. Everything that's negative about him that I've heard is from years ago, nothing recently.

People are telling me that I need and alternator and lithium as well.

I have a group 65 Super Start Platinum from O'reilly's. Cost me $220
Your thread from a few days ago I said you can rock a nice battery (which seems like you already have) along with big 3 and see if that suites your needs since your not competing. I also said if your volts drop too much for your liking Singer has good fringe 400 dollar options that won't break the bank.

Even if you did big 3 and Singer alt you'd be at a combined 500 dollars.

That's far from "people are telling me to spend over 1200 dollars for a daily setup"

Completely overkill for a 3k amp in a daily setup.
I told them that in his electrical thread and he said he wanted to see what it can fully do and bite the bullet.

Supposedly he already had an AGM battery so in that case even if you did do a mid tier alt with big 3 that would still be less than half of the claimed 1200 dollars

People are telling me that I need and alternator and lithium as well.
This thread along with the one you made a few days ago literally NO one mentioned the word lithium. Why do you keep repeating narratives that never exist ?

and what $300 lithium are you talking about?
He keeps ranting about things like "lithium" and "600-800 dollar alts" that literally nobody is telling him to get ??? (dementia ?)

For a system like that there is no need for Lithium. Idk who told you that but no, just no. That O'reillys AGM is ok they are another Johnson Controls made battery. Basically the same like every other AGM out there they make. But at least they are reliable from what I have heard. Basically the same battery that Walmart AGM is and others that are made by Johnson Controls. Only difference is the name and sticker on the battery or the color of it.

My installer is wanting me to use lithium and get rid of the AGM.
You still haven't mentioned which one either, but I can't lithium as worth it at the 300$ price point. Now if you hadn't already upgraded under the hood and were going to take your 900-1200$ budget and DIY some LTO on the stock alternator could get you ready for 3-5K and would be a fair investment since it would probably last into your next vehicle.

That said if you're in a decent pickup truck and space isn't an issue weight definitely shouldn't be an issue. I personally would use 2 AGMs + high output alt to run any legit 3K amp but you could probably get away with one less battery depending on your goals and listening habits. Not like going overboard on electrical will ever hurt anything.

Yes, it takes power to make power. Just because China/Brazil cranks out power at 5-7 cents per watt doesn't mean it doesn't still cost a buck or two per ampere to properly feed them.

@mastershake575, that **** you said at the end of your post is pathetic.
spare the BS Bobby. I'm one of the very few people left on this forum that hasn't blocked you so don't be over here trying to pull the victim card on me.

I still stand by what I told you in the other thread. AGM with big three and see if the loudness and voltage is to your liking. If it's good but you want a little more loudness or your voltage is dipping then look into a mid tier alternator

@Popwarhomie , yinlong lithium. If that makes a difference.

Ding dongs would require getting rid of your AGM. One 40ah bank with buss bars and BMS is going to be around $500. Plus a power supply to charge them is another $60. On top of that you will want a higher charging voltage to get the most out of them.

Not worth it at all for your setup.
