Coleman was always good to me. I had his phone number, did pre-fab box designs for him to put up on his site. He treated me fairly, never had a problem with him personally. Some products weren't the best, but they were new and you always have to work out bugs with products. A lot of CT Sounds stuff that we used and installed was solid. IIRC they had a nice little 4 channel that we used a lot in our customer builds.
You guys should really hold your opinions when it comes to his death. I realize what site I'm on and that this is the internet, but it's just a general respect thing.
I'm not saying he did anything right or wrong, feel free to feel how you feel. At the same time, you try starting up a business like he did and see how it goes for you, before you judge him. He was young when he started AT up, then switched to CT Sounds. I had some of his first deadner in my Explorer. He was always cool with me, from my time talking to him and working with him on some relatively small things. He was respectful and he listened to my concerns and advice about enclosures, and some sub issues I had with his lower powered 18's. We got some early model prototypes that we put in my Explorer that had wayyyyy too stiff of a suspension on them for their wattage. And we just talked back and forth, really trying to make stuff better. He was always cool with me.
People like to criticize others, even though they've never been through the same sitations and their lives are completely different. I just ask if you want to criticize him, put yourself in his shoes first, before you do.
