Hopefully I’m posting this in the right place. I just wanted some help on what a good amp would be to get, and a few other things. I wanna know from some people who actually know about this stuff because I know pretty much nothing tbh. i only know what I learned from my buddies that had systems when I was younger and it wasn’t very much lol. Anyway I’m gonna post the stuff I got so far and what I wanna get and let me know what would be the best amp to get in your guys’ opinion. So far I got component Jbl STADIUMGTO600C Stadium Series 6 1/2 for the front doors.
Jbl club 620F coax speakers for the rear deck.
Jbl 12” Subwoofer stadium 1224
Then for the stereo I was gonna get either the ALPINE ILX-207, or alpine halo9ILX-F259. (Anyone know the dif besides screen size?) finally the amp this is the hardest thing to try picking out when you don’t know much about it. What would a decent amp be for all that and possibly a second 12” jbl 1224 sometime in the future? I was lookin a jl audio 8i amplifier it’s like 1399. But i just wanna get something nice that will be plenty enough but I don’t wanna get something that’s too much with stuff I’ll never use or care about. You get what I’m sayin? Lol. I also got to get a box for the sub any major differences in types? Thanks. And it’s a 2012 Honda Civic

I just looked at the specs for the JL amp that you are considering. Pretty pricey and 8 channels. What made you decide on this one? The first question is: Are you going to need an 8-channel amp to fit your personal needs? Wouldn't a 6 Channel amp meet your current needs, and give you the capability of adding another subwoofer later? JL amps has a 6-channel for around $619 at Crutchfield.com. It doesn't have all the fancy features of the 8 channel, i.e Bluetooth, built-in equalizer, etc. You will get a lot of suggestions, but I suggest that you also contact Crutchfield.com for recommendations.

I just mentioned that jl audio amp because this one site had it on sale for a few hundred off so thats why i mentioned that specific one. I have been learning a lot from reading stuff since i posted this a few hrs ago though. the crutchfield guy reccommended jl audio hd900. im going to compare that one with your suggestion.

You don’t need all the gadgetry of that pricey jl amp. Your alpine hu whichever you pick will give you clean signal and high output. But the one with the best tuning capabilities and preout voltage. You only need 4 channels for a Comp set and a coaxial set so Get a gmd8704 pioneer 4 channel and then get a md1200.1 ohm. Run it at 2 ohms since your sub is selectable impedance then when you add another or swap to different subs you have plenty of power for both in a one ohm load. Did you already buy the jbl sub? A box made to the sub parameters will dictate the output...although If you’re already thinking about another sub might do it now so you’re not selling a single sub box for pennies later. Btw both those amps together are 300$ and great output in small packages.

If you can return the sub, do it. Then, get a pair of XFL10's or 12's d4. Then, just get the MD3k ($230) one ohm. Even, if you sell the single sub at a loss. Just do it once. Everything will be cheaper than that amp that you are looking at.
